The Ginyu Force in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is one of the most tedious fights in the game. In the Dragon Ball Z series, they first appear during the Frieza Arc as Frieza's special task force. Frieza utilizes them only when absolutely necessary, as they are his most competent lieutenants. Despite their strength, the Ginyu Force is infamous for their flamboyant nature.

In this guide, we have shared everything you will need to know about defeating the Ginyu Force in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

To face the Ginyu Force in consecutive battles, follow the alternate storyline in Goku's Character Episode. During the fight with Raditz, instead of teaming up with Piccolo, choose "go it alone." This decision sets off a series of events where Vegeta escapes Earth in a Saiyan Pod. Eventually, Vegeta returns and proposes an alliance with Goku and his friends to face Frieza.

After Vegeta's return, the alternate story continues as Frieza invades Earth. First, you will face Zarbon and Dodoria, Frieza's right- and left-hand men. After defeating them, the Ginyu Force takes the offensive. Your first encounter will be with Guldo, the weakest member of the squad. After Guldo's defeat, Vegeta suggests that Goku fight the entire Ginyu Force consecutively instead of in one-on-one battles. Goku agrees and starts his fight against all five members of the Ginyu Force.

1. Guldo

  • Weakest member, easiest to defeat
  • Key Strategy: Use rush combos followed by a Kaioken x20 Kamehameha.

In this fight, save as much HP as possible for the tougher battles ahead. If you find yourself losing too much health early, restart the fight. Before landing the final blow, charge your Ki to full. This way, you can quickly enter Sparking Mode for the next battle.

2. Recoome

  • Defense-oriented with teleporting attacks
  • Key Strategy: Recoome's defensive buff makes it hard to land rush combos. Watch out for his teleporting kicks. Use Sparking Mode to initiate rush combos and follow up with a Spirit Bomb.

Timing is critical. Try to catch Recoome off-guard when he finishes an attack animation and hit him with the Spirit Bomb to deal massive damage quickly.

3. Burter

  • Fast and aggressive with teleportation
  • Key Strategy: Burter's speed and melee attacks make him tricky, but he's vulnerable after teleporting. Use a similar strategy as with Recoome: perform a rush combo and use the Spirit Bomb. However, be careful of his counterattacks.

If available, use the "Give Me Your Energy" skill up to three times to increase the power of your Spirit Bomb. Keep one Skill Point left to re-enter Sparking Mode if necessary.

4. Jeice

  • Long-range Ki attacks
  • Key Strategy: Jeice relies on ranged attacks, but his melee strikes are weak and predictable. During his melee combos, wait for him to teleport around you and block to counter. Afterward, retaliate with a rush combo and either a Kaioken x20 Kamehameha or a Spirit Bomb if you're in Sparking Mode.

Jeice's movements can be erratic, so focus on defense and close the gap whenever you can.

5. Captain Ginyu

  • High defense and final boss of the sequence
  • Key Strategy: Ginyu is the toughest opponent in the Ginyu Force, especially if your health is low. Stay in Sparking Mode and continuously pressure him with rush combos. After knocking him down, use a Spirit Bomb for big damage.

If your health is critical, use Dragon Dash to create distance, charge your Ki, and re-enter Sparking Mode. This will give you the advantage to overwhelm Ginyu before he regains momentum.
