A big query that many of you might have is if you will need the EA App to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Most games from big publishers require a third-party application these days, and that goes for titles published by EA as well. Even BioWare's previous endeavors required you to download and install the third-party EA App launcher.

Fortunately, you don't need to download and install the EA App to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The game is 'Steam Native,' eliminating the requirement of another third-party launcher. Hence, similar to Dead Space Remake, you don't need the EA App given you have purchased Veilguard from Valve's storefront.

The official DA Twitter has confirmed that you don't need the EA App to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The game is Steam native and similar to the last few titles published by EA, can be played without the third-party launcher.

Dragon Age The Veilguard also does not have any anti-piracy DRM services like Denuvo which are known to cause performance issues. However, this comes at the cost of you being unable to pre-load Dragon Age The Veilguard on the PC till the game's launch, while both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/ S users have the option to do so. If you are playing on a PC, you will be able to download the game once it is released on October 31, 2024 (9 AM PT/ 12 PM EDT).
