PlayStation's upcoming 5v5 Multiplayer shooter Concord will need an active internet connection to run, but many players are wondering whether it will also require PlayStation Plus. The simple answer is yes. Concord will need an active PS Plus subscription for you to play it on the PS5, and there's a very good reason for this.
This article will talk about why this title needs a PlayStation Plus subscription on the PS5.
Join PlayStation Plus and play Concord on PS5 actively
Players will need to have an active PlayStation Plus membership because Concord is going to be an always-online Multiplayer game that doesn't feature content for solo play (offline campaign). This requirement is necessary to meet if you're planning on playing the upcoming 5v5 hero shooter on the PS5.

It's worth noting that all users of this console will be able to participate in the title's upcoming open beta, even if they are not subscribed to PS Plus. That is because this testing phase is free to access, and free Multiplayer titles on PlayStation don't need a PS Plus membership. However, when the full game comes out next month, it will be a paid experience and will require an active subscription.
If PS5 players cancel their PS Plus subscription at any point going forward, they will lose access to Concord despite paying the full price of $40 for owning it. So that's something worth noting as well.

When is Concord's open beta coming out?
The open beta is going to be available starting on July 18, 2024, at 10 am PT. In comparison to the early access beta, players don't need to pre-purchase the game in order to enjoy the open beta as it's completely free.
However, those looking to save some time by pre-loading the open beta on PS5 or PC can do so by actually pre-ordering the game. In short, they can buy it, and they will get a pre-load option to actually install the open beta before it's officially available to download.
Those who don't want to purchase the 5v5 hero shooter, yet, can simply wait for the exact time when the open beta will go live. Then they can download and install the file.
