Do the Scadutree Blessings carry over to New Game+ in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree?

Scadutree Blessings are easily the most important resource in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, as it governs your progression in the expansion. While the Scadutree Blessings system is fairly linear, it does take quite a lot of time and effort to collect all 50 Scadutree Fragments to reach the final level of the Scadutree Blessings. Doing so allows you to gain the highest possible offensive and defensive boost, albeit within the confines of the DLC.

However, what happens when you start a fresh playthrough with the same character, i.e., New Game+? Naturally, many fans might be curious about whether their Scadutree Blessings carry over to Elden Ring's New Game+ cycles or not.

Since the Scadutree Fragments only work in the DLC, it won't be possible to know if you retain them from your previous playthrough, until you reach the end-game in New Game+. Thankfully, once you do reach the Realm of Shadow in New Game+, you won't have to collect all the Scadutree Blessings all over again.

Scadutree Blessings in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree are retained in New Game+, but there's a catch

Much like the Golden Seeds used to upgrade the capacity of Flask of Crimson Tears, the Scadutree Blessings in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree are retained in subsequent New Game+ cycles. Furthermore, all the Scadutree Fragments respawn at their original spot in NG+. So, if you missed out on grabbing some of them on your first playthrough of Shadow of the Erdtree, you can do so on New Game+.

However, if you've already maxed out the Blessings to Level 20, you won't get any further boost from collecting the Scadutree Fragments. This also stands true for the Revered Spirit Ashes, which are used to empower your Spirit Summons as well as the Spectral Steed Torrent's HP and defensive attributes.

Keep in mind that the Scadutree Blessings work exclusively in the Realm of the Shadow, i.e., the DLC map. While retaining your Scadutree Blessings in NG+ is a really good quality-of-life feature, it also means that your Tarnished won't be receiving a substantial DPS boost, just like your first playthrough of Shadow of the Erdtree.

However, the bosses in the DLC will get buffed based on the New Game+ cycle you are on. As such, it's recommended to only go into New Game+ if you're prepared to take on the increased difficulty. In souls-likes, with every NG+ cycle, enemies and bosses gain a boost to their base HP and attack power, and that stands true for Elden Ring as well.
