Fans of the Dragon Ball franchise worldwide are excited about the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. Although the franchise has released a ton of games over the past few decades, the ones belonging to the fighting genre receive the most plaudits. Sparking Zero is all set to release on October 11, 2024.
A major doubt in the minds of Dragon Ball fans concerns the game's cross-play compatibilities. Cross-play, in gaming, means the freedom to play a title alongside your friends who are playing on a different gaming device. Although this feature is present in most modern games these days, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero lacks cross-play support.

During a recent interaction with IGN, producer Jun Furutani talked briefly about the game. After being questioned about cross-play support in Sparking Zero, Furutani admitted that making the game available for cross-play is currently difficult. However, he didn't deny the possibility of incorporating this feature in the future.
"The short professional answer is, yeah, there's a difficulty that we have to go through to get cross-play to work. So yeah, that's where we stand right now. And as for your question about future, obviously, we don't know yet, but yeah."
Compatible platforms to play Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
Despite not providing cross-play support, Bandai Namco ensured the game would be available on all next-generation consoles. This means you can play the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, as well as on PC. Note that Sparking Zero is not available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
Apart from this, it will also lack another major feature that is pretty common in fighting games. Similar to its predecessor Dragon Ball: The Breakers, Sparking Zero will not have a rollback netcode, which can cause issues with input delays as well as stuttering in-game. Since Dragon Ball: The Breakers received an update to fix this issue, the same is expected in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero post-release.
