In Dragon Age The Veilguard, Solas intends to tear down the Veil and separate Thedas from the demon realm. During the prologue, he gets into a battle with Rook and Varric. Varric gets severely injured in the fight. While players might think for a huge portion of the gameplay that Varric is still alive and acts as an advisor to Rook, it turns out that he actually died during the opening scenes itself. This was nothing but a trick that Solas plays on Rook. This is exactly why no one other than Rook can see Varric. The game comprises of some pretty complex decisions to make and a very subjective storyline as well. While Solas appears to be a bad guy for the most part, his character development in the game has been nothing short of a masterpiece.

Is Morrigan present in Dragon Age The Veilguard?
The release trailer of the game itself confirmed the presence of Morrigan in this new title. However, she is not a playable character. This also means that you can't romance Morrigan in Dragon Age Veilguard, similar to Inquisition. Morrigan helps out Rook as a mentor and advisor during the story of Dragon Age The Veilguard.
Duration of Dragon Age The Veilguard
If you focus on the main storyline, Dragon Age Veilguard can take up to 40 hours to complete. However, you can play more of the game by completing additional side quests and activities. If you intend to finish the game 100 percent, it will take you around 70- 80 hours.
However, the game is quite linear and is not an open-world title like Dragon Age Inquisition. Also, do note that if you want to collect all the trophies and achievements present in Dragon Age Veilguard, you might need to play the game more than once.
