Cornered in the Catacombs is a side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard that you can find in the Dock Town region of Minrathous. There, you will come across an injured Grey Warden on the streets, and she will task you with clearing the blight from the catacombs underneath the city. While the quest does not lock you to any specific companions, note that either Neve or Lucanis will be absent for a while based on your decision to help Minrathous or Treviso.

How to complete the Cornered in the Catacombs side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

To start the quest, find the injured Grey Warden in the Glandivalis Square area in Dock Town. Speak to her and accept her request, to start the Cornered in the Catacombs side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard. Track the mission, and it will take you to the Catacombs entrance.

Exploring the Catacombs

The Catacombs will be full of darkspawns who resist necrotic damage. Don't bring Emmerich to this dungeon if you want to kill the enemies quickly.

Target the blight with Assan (Image via EA)

Kill the blight boils and make your way through the passageway. When you come across the room with the Evanuris Statue, destroy the boils that are glowing red.

• The first boil is to your left as you enter the room.
• Head left to find the second boil at the base of the pillar on the other side of the wall.
• Next, target the boil atop the blighted structure in the middle.
• Look at the roof in the middle of the room and use Davrin's ability to summon Assan on the blight boil above.
• Destroy the rest of the boils.

This will unlock the next area. But before you head there, make sure to complete the Evanuris Statue challenge to get a health upgrade in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

In the next area, you will need to use Harding's ability to solve the rock puzzle.

• Move down the rock formation to your right near the beam of light.
• Move the one above the same rock formation.
• Now move down the two formations in front of you, and the beam will hit the mechanism, unlocking the door.

This will solve the puzzle and you will be able to move forward. Take the elevator to the surface and head down the path. A blight boil will drop from above and explode; dodge it to avoid damage.

There are three more blight boils in the area that you must clear. Once done, grab the chest and head to the Grey Warden.
