How to complete the Heart of Corruption side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

There are a few steps that you will need to take to complete the Heart of Corruption side quest and rid the Crossroads of the blight.

Gate of Deep Sorrows (Level 25)

The champion to unlock the Gate of Deep Sorrows will be waiting for you at the Treviso Rooftops, which can be easily accessed by taking the zipline from the Antivan Crows Headquarters. A couple of Venatori cultists will be in the area, so take care of them before engaging with the champion — Desmel, Bloodbound to Elger’nan. The blighted monstrosity uses blood magic.

Gate of Parched Hopes (Level 25)

The Gate of Parched Hopes also has a champion whom you will need to defeat. Located in the Arlathan forest, you can gain access to the area by doing Davrin's companion quest, How to Train your Griffon.

Make sure to defeat the surrounding blights before you engage with the champion Entarus the Rekindled, who uses fire magic.

Gate of Pale Reflections (Level 35)

The last champion and its essence are located in the Hossberg Wetlands. A few darkspawns will roam the area, so make sure to kill them before attacking the Blight Cyst.

The target is Amarell the Unwoven, a blighted orc who can hit quite hard.

The Revenants

There are three revenants (Image via EA)

Track each gate from your journal and open them. You will need to defeat a revenant in each of the Crossroad's islands.

Betrayal of Felassan (Level 32)

Betrayal of Felassan will likely be the first revenant you handle during the Heart of Corruption side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard. He is quite powerful and will use ice magic against you. Make sure to grab the chest in the room after you defeat him, to obtain the Burden amulet.

Slaughter of Pillars (Level 37)

The Slaughter of Pillars revenant boss is located in the Elvhenan's Haven island. This enemy can summon Undead Hordes, so it is ideal if you bring AoE abilities to the party. Make sure to grab the chest to obtain the Andraste's Will ring.

Fall of the Protector (Level 42)

Fall of the Protector won't directly engage you in battle. You must defeat an Undead Horde to gain its attention when it drops down from its seat to fight you. Grab the chest in the room to obtain the third piece of gear. This item is randomized.

How to defeat the Revenant Dragon in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Bring the three Revenant Crystals to the gate near the Crossroads entrance. This will unlock the path to the Revenant Dragon (Level 50) boss and you will need to beat it to complete the Heart of Corruption side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard. Here are a few tips and tricks to defeat it:

• The Revenant Dragon fight is similar to any other Dragon boss in the game. It will spit various elements and will often try to run you over.
• Make sure to prioritize charged attacks to take down its armor.
• Often, the Revenant dragon will blind you. Run toward any fire source in the arena when that happens.
• If you have completed the Regrets of Dread Wolf quest and obtained all six wolf statues, you will get the option to convince Mythal to lend you her essence. If you have it, she will aid you during the battle.

Defeating the Revenant Dragon will give you The Last Resort ring and conclude the Heart of Corruption side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard.
