Dragon Age The Veilguard patch 4 is officially live, bringing prominent new content and implementing essential bug fixes. Along with a new outfit, complexions, and quality of life changes, the developers have also released a free version of the game's character creator on all platforms.

Qunari Complexions

  • Two new complexions for the Qunari lineage.

Quality of life changes

  • Due to safety concerns, the line on that screen indicating where a Photo Mode screenshot was saved has been removed. PC players can find their Photo Mode screenshots in Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age The Veilguard/screenshots.
  • An in-game setting was added to turn off Bloom.
  • A "Hide/Show UI" button on the pause screen was added to better take screenshots on the console.
  • A "Take Photo" button on the pause screen was added to take screenshots during conversations and cinematics on PC.

Bug Fixes

  • Issue fixed: Prevented some saved files from loading properly. (PC)
  • Issue fixed: Prevented the Frame Rate Limit setting from being saved.
  • Issue fixed: Rook’s face and hair changed drastically when loading a save.
  • Issue fixed: Certain longer hairstyles floated above Rook’s chest and shoulders.
  • Issue fixed: Two Neve characters could appear in the Fire and Ice quest.
  • Issue fixed: In a rare occurrence, Emmrich failed to lead Rook to the next task in the recruitment quest, Where the Dead Must Go.
  • Adjusted: The Warden Vault quest's spirit guides.
  • Issue fixed: Caused the Ultimate Ability to swap to the default Ultimate.
  • Issue fixed: The Ultimate Ability Icon was not displayed after Bellara's recruitment.
  • Issue fixed: The first hit in a Warrior Rook’s shield throw may miss the target unintentionally.
  • Issue fixed: The Slaughter of Pillars Revenant had no health bar.
  • Issue fixed: Achievement Progress reset after creating a new Rook. This will not restore Achievement Progress that was overwritten, but your Rooks will no longer compete with each other for who can kill more High Dragons.
  • Issue fixed: The camera problem in The Demon’s Bargain quest when playing on an HDD.
  • Issue fixed: The camera problem in the Sea of Blood quest when Rook backtracked too far.
  • Issue fixed: Two instances where Viago was talking to Rook but was too absorbed by Teia’s beauty and staring at her instead.
  • Issue fixed: Photo Mode screenshots appeared slightly blurry for some players.
  • Issue fixed: Taking a screenshot with the space bar in Photo Mode also toggled the highlighted setting at the same time. (PC Only)
  • Issue fixed: The battle music stopped playing while Rook was still fighting Darkspawn in A Warden’s Best Friend quest.
  • Issue fixed: Prevented music from playing during a conversation with Lucanis in the Lighthouse.
  • Issue fixed: Lighting problem in the One Last Breath quest.
  • Issue fixed: Blocking problem in the Fire and Ice quest when returning to the Lighthouse.
  • Issue fixed: Blocking problem in the Blood of Arlathan quest when Rook backtracked too far.
  • Issue fixed: The “New Item” UI got stuck on an item.
  • Issue fixed: In Lost Friendship codex mentioned events out of order and possibly with the wrong companion.
  • Issue fixed: The male British Inquisitor (Harry Hadden-Paton) was pitched too low.
  • Update: Several German voice-line instances with corrected translations.

BioWare has also announced the new character creator feature that lets you create a Rook before purchasing the game. You can later transfer your avatar if you're on the same platform.
