EA and BioWare's recently released title Dragon Age The Veilguard has been performing incredibly well in the markets. The game can be played without EA Play, which comes as a big relief for gamers. NOTE: The fixes mentioned may not prove effective for everyone. However, they are worth trying until the developer releases an official fix.

Restarting the game and console
To get better performance while playing Dragon Age The Veilguard on your PlayStation 5, first try to restart the game and the console itself. If you have been playing on the console for a long time, this might result in increased temperatures. Give your console a few minutes to rest before turning it on — this might solve problems like stuttering or crashing. To do so, follow these steps:
- Press the PlayStation button on your dual-sense controller.
- Select the power option.
- Choose "Restart PS5"
Overheating and ventilation issues
Overheating and the lack of proper ventilation can often increase the console's temperatures to an extent where it can result in poor gaming performance. To avoid such issues, ensure your console is not placed in a poorly ventilated spot. Also, remove any accumulated dust on your console by opening the side panels of your PS5 and cleaning it afterward.
Check for game updates
Dragon Age The Veilguard will update itself if you have "Automatic Updates" enabled. However, you can do it manually as well by following these steps:
- Navigate through your games and select the Dragon Age The Veilguard game tile.
- Press the Options button and click "Check for Update."
Clear some storage
If your PlayStation 5 does not have enough storage left, clear up some unwanted games, software, and saved game files to avoid facing poor performance while playing Dragon Age Veilguard. To do so, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings and scroll down to Storage.
- Delete Saved Data under Console Storage and Extended Storage.
- If you have any unwanted save files for Metaphor, delete them as well. For this, go to Game/App Settings and clear the Saved Data.

Check all the connections
If you face any input lags while gaming, ensure the HDMI cable is plugged in properly and not damaged. This can be one of the reasons behind problems like input lags. Remove the cable, clean the ports, and re-plug the HDMI cable.
Since the game is still fairly new, it actively receives updates. If these fixes don't work for you, future patch updates might solve these performance issues.
