Once you accept the quest from Teia and Viago, head to the marketplace in Treviso to start your search for Chance Candide. The quest markers will guide you to the location.

When you make your way there, you’ll see Antaam soldiers' bodies scattered around. Speak to the Market Master at the entrance of the square; she will inform you that Chance was responsible for the killings and has since fled to the Drowned District located to the south.

If this is your first time exploring the blighted version of Treviso, you might encounter a barrier obstructing your path to the marketplace. This barrier can be cleared by bursting the blight boils on the right side.

With the information from the Market Master, make your way south towards the Drowned District. On your way, you will be blocked by a blight-covered bridge. Use your companion’s Blight Hunter ability to clear the bridge.

If you have previously explored Treviso and unlocked the fast-travel beacons, you can teleport directly to the Drowned District. However, by doing this, you will miss some of the environmental storytelling.

Upon reaching the Drowned District, head southeast towards the sinking houses. The area is heavily guarded by Darkspawn protecting a blight spire. Eliminate the surrounding Darkspawn first then focus on destroying the marked blight boils around the spire. Once all the boils are destroyed, attack the top of the blight spire to trigger the boss fight.

How to defeat the Blighted Chance Candide in A Crow and A Gentleman quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Destroying the blight spire will summon a corrupted version of Chance Candide, a Level 30 enemy that specializes in melee combat, has an armor bar, and is highly resistant to necrotic damage but vulnerable to fire. Equip fire-based abilities or weapons to exploit this weakness.

During the fight, Chance will continuously summon Darkspawn as backup. You can ignore them or instruct your allies to take care of them.

Use Davrin’s Battle Cry ability to draw the attention of the Darkspawn minions, giving your other party members space to focus on Chance. Additionally, Bellara’s Time Slow can be a lifesaver, allowing your team to heal.

Once Chance is defeated, all summoned Darkspawn will vanish instantly, concluding the battle.
