Dragon Age The Veilguard walkthrough: How to complete A Shroud Over the Light quest

In Dragon Age The Veilguard, you will reach a point in the game where the tough decision must be made on whether to aid Treviso or Minthraous first during the main campaign. If Treviso is aided first, the A Shroud Over the Light quest will unlock, allowing you to find out the reasons for the Shadow Dragons' disappearance.

The quest involves some combat, so make sure to go in prepared so as to not lose too much party health in the process. Below is a guide on how to complete A Shroud Over the Light side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

Exploring A Shroud Over the Light side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Reach Dock Town, and head into the Shadow Dragons' Sanctum. Head inside, and an Unstoppable Executioner will ambush Rook and the party. Should it prove difficult to take down, use Cold attacks on it and exploit its vulnerability. Note that it is resistant to Fire attacks. If you can, use some combo attacks to take it down.

Defeating it will start the A Shroud Over the Light side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard, and guide you toward a note lying on the floor of a pawn shop amongst some rubble. It will inform you that Venatori are moving in, so follow the markers and head through the Market area. Reach Urthimiel Venue, and search for some barrels to destroy to find the second note.

It will instruct you to head toward Dockside Jail, which can be accessed by climbing up the ladder east from where the second note was found. Head to the upper level, and follow the markers till you reach the Dockside Jail area. This area can be accessed by a lift, which the marker will lead you toward.

Next, prepare to fight some Venatori. Take them down, and interact with the marked body of the enemy once prompted. From here, talk to the NPC and head towards the marker at the Docks area. Optionally, should the beacon be unlocked, use it to fast-travel to the area quickly.

Here, reach the large entrance which will be blocked by a red crystal, as the other smaller entrance which is also blocked cannot be used as an entry point. Some Venaori will show up to fight you, so take them down. Destroy the three floating red crystals that are powering the crystal that blocks the gate.

Destroy the large one, head in, and interact with the marker. This will end the quest. For your troubles, you will receive a bond increase with party members, some XP, and +100 to Shadow Dragons' Strength. This will also unlock the side quest, Rituals for the Risen.
