Hummingbird's Lament quest is an important side quest in Bioware's Dragon Age The Veilguard. It features just conversations, but you should navigate the correct options if you are interested in romancing Bellara. The quest follows Bellara and Rook's attempts to convince Cyrian to leave Anaris' service.

Bellara Lutare will join your party after the In Entropy's Grasp quest. You must complete her companion questline to upgrade her arsenal with new skills and armor or if you want to romance Rook with her.

Start the quest

To start the quest, talk to Bellara sometime after completing her previous quests. The quest description is as follows:

The primary objective of the quest is to convince Bellara's long-lost brother Cyrian to leave Anaris' service, following the aftermath of Anaris turning many Veil Jumpers into demons. To do that, you must first plant a seed of doubt in Cyrian.

The conversation with Rook, Bellara and Cyrian will take place at the Ruins Reach once you meetup with her:

Cyrian: "The ritual should've granted them purity, strength. That it did not.....That is my failure, I was not worthy. I will do better. I must do better. For Anaris. For our people."

Choices:

  • You need better allies. [Preferable]
  • You did Anaris's bidding. [Preferable]
  • Cold comfort to them.

You realize that Cyrian has been greatly influenced by Anaris's teachings.

The conversation continues:

Cyrian: "He showed me. The world as it once was- as it could be again."

Choices:

  • At what cost. [Preferable]
  • You're deluded.
  • Yeah. He's trustworthy

This is the final choice for the quest. Although, it is unclear whether this affects Cyrian's fate at the end of Bellara's arc.

The conversation will conclude with:

Cyrian: "No, but... no doubt he keeps it from me for good reason."

Choices:

  • Think about it. [Preferable]
  • Where does it end? [Preferable]
  • You're a fool.
