Dragon Age The Veilguard walkthrough: How to complete the Mercenary Intent quest

In Dragon Age The Veilguard, the Mercenary Intent quest is found within the Dock town area in the map of Thedas. It involves searching a warehouse for clues to investigate suspicious activity and then finding and battling mercenaries. This quest can only be triggered after completing Neve's quest "A Clear Mind."

The entirety of Mercenary Intent takes place in the Docks and can be completed rather quickly if the clues are found in time. Here's how you can complete it.

Mercenary Intent quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

As mentioned, complete the "A Clear Mind" quest and head to Dock Town. Reach the area and investigate the yellow marker to spawn some mercenaries. Take them down to begin this quest.

Head to the marker, which leads into a warehouse in the Smuggler's Docks. The first clue will be on a wooden pillar with a burning torch and can be seen almost immediately as you enter the warehouse. For the other two clues, head upstairs, which will have you reach a small room with staircases heading in opposite directions to different rooms.

The clues in both rooms will be found on a table, so claim them and leave the warehouse. Head toward the Lowtide Beach area and through the broken doorway where you will spot some cages guarded by Venatori. They are weak to Cold attacks, so take them down to proceed.

Once done, feel free to claim any chests or items in the vicinity before heading toward the individual trapped in a cage. They will be very grateful to the party for freeing them from being captured, and as a reward, you will receive 500 XP, a Bond increase with the party members who joined you, and some Defiant Plate armor items.
