The Profane and the Lost mission in Dragon Age The Veilguard is a companion quest that you will get from Davrin. You will be tasked with returning to the Hossberg Wetlands and helping your Grey Warden friend track down the Doom Howler, Isseya. This is an incredibly important companion quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard as it allows you to unlock the Hero of the Veilguard skill for Davrin.

How to complete The Profane and the Lost side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

You can start the Profane and the Lost side quest after completing Davrin's first and second companion missions. Talk to him in the Lighthouse once the exclamation mark appears over his map icon to start the quest.

The Deep Roads

Davrin will ask you to meet him at the Hossberg Wetlands, where you will need to track down the Griffons that the Gloom Howler kidnapped when you went out to recruit him. After a short conversation with Antoine, you will find yourself in the Lotus Cave. Head down the path and use the elevator to descend into the Deep Roads.

Keep moving along the path until you come across a blighted Grey Warden. No matter what you choose, you will have to face him in a duel. Defeat him and keep following your objective marker along the Broken Shoreline.

This area will be full of Darkspawns and blight so be careful. Once you are past that, you will come across the Profane City approach location in Dragon Age The Veilguard. Clear out the roaming darkspawns and make your way to the Ballista. Then, shoot down the blight boils on the walls of the ruined remains of the Weisshaupt Fortress.

Once that is done, keep following your objective marker till you come across a giant door that you will have to open and enter.

Meeting the First Warden

The choice you made during the Siege of Weisshaupt will play a crucial role in The Profane and the Lost side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard. You will enter the room to find the Grey Warden's former leader, covered in blight. Based on your choice during the Siege of Weisshaupt mission, the conversation will go two ways.

Making your way to Isseya's layer

After saying your final goodbye to the First Warden, keep heading down the path to Isseya's layer. You will come across a lot of blight boils that you can destroy using Assan.

Here's how you can defeat Isseya during The Profane and the Lost side quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard.

• Isseya will have a shield similar to other bosses in the game. Use your heavy attacks to take it down.
• She is vulnerable to Fire but resists Necrotic damage.
• At 75% HP, she will summon more darkspawns and blight boils for you to deal with. Defeat them quickly before chasing after the boss.
• At 50% health, she will leave the room. Follow her via the small opening to the next area.
• This room will also be full of darkspawns and blight boils. Take them out before engaging Isseya.
• Make sure to continue your offense as she can bring back the barrier.

After you defeat the former warden turned Gloom Howler, you will have a cutscene play where you can peacefully resolve the conflict by using the "What about your own griffon?" dialog. Keep in mind that this will only occur if you have obtained the Griffon feather from the First Warden.
