To start the quest, visit the Shadow Dragons’ safehouse in Dock Town after finishing The Words of the Wolf. Speak to Maevaris and Dorian to receive the quest objectives and begin your investigation. Use a fast-travel Beacon to quickly reach the Cobbled Swan, this bar plays a vital role during this quest.

Once you arrive, a short cutscene will play out. Begin your search for clues by investigating three items marked in the bar: a tankard on the table, a bedroll in the corner, and a note on a small side table. After examining these items, exit the bar and report your findings to the contact waiting outside.

How to complete the Soul of a City quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Following the contact’s lead, you’ll arrive at the Waterworks, where Venatori soldiers guard the area. Engage in combat and defeat them, then destroy their red crystal barrier to open the way forward. As you progress deeper into the tunnels, you’ll face a mini-boss battle: Venatori Construct.

After defeating the Construct, continue following the quest marker. On your way, you’ll face waves of Darkspawn enemies. After defeating the Darkspawn, focus on destroying glowing blight boils scattered throughout the area. Clearing these boils removes barriers that block your way to the Venatori Hideout.

How to defeat Knight-Commander Lenos Soul of a City quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Once you enter the Venatori Hideout, you’ll face Knight-Commander Lenos, you will also face a mage and a soldier alongside him. Lenos is heavily shielded,so use charged or guard-breaking attacks to penetrate his defenses. The mage who fights on his side is vulnerable to cold-based damage; spam frost attacks to defeat the Mage as fast as you can, once it is killed focus on killing the soldier.

After defeating Lenos, loot the Venatori Vault to claim valuable rewards, including the Scroll of Eternal Victory (+50 Caretaker Power), weapons and materials, and Lenos’ documents, which reveal the Venatori plot.

Choosing the new Archon in Soul of a City quest in Dragon Age The Veilguard

Return to Dock Town and speak with Maevaris. She will present you with the choice of who should become the next Archon: Maevaris herself or Dorian. Before making your decision, consult your companions for their opinions. Maevaris is supported by Taash, Davrin, and Harding, while Dorian is favored by Lucanis, Bellara, and Emmrich. Neve’s approval will depend on choices made during her companion quest.

When you’ve made your decision, finalize the quest by naming either Maevaris or Dorian as Archon.
