Speak with Strife and Irelin at Veil Jumper Camp

• Begin the quest by heading to Veil Jumper Camp and speaking with Strife and Irelin, who will update you on the Venatori threat.

Follow the Quest Marker to Shadowy Grove

• Follow your marker through Sanctum Overlook and Ruins Reach until you reach Shadowy Grove. Here, you’ll encounter a camp of Venatori.
• The Venatori are weak to Cold attacks but resistant to Fire. Equip or prepare abilities accordingly for an easier fight.
• After defeating them, search their camp for clues. Find a small note that will update your quest to locate the Dalish camp.

Reach the Dalish Camp via Tattered Bridge

• Head towards the Nameless Building and cross to the other side of the Tattered Bridge. You can use fast travel.
• Proceed to the Mystical Tower, where more Venatori are stationed. Defeat them to free the area.
• After the fight, speak with Galadar, a Veil Jumper who reveals that the Dalish prisoner is being held nearby.

First Puzzle - unlocking the barrier

To reach the prisoner, you’ll need to solve a puzzle involving a set of pedestals. Correctly activating these pedestals will unlock the barrier.

Stand at the entrance of the room and orient yourself so that you’re looking inward.

Activate pedestals in this order:

• Second pedestal from the left of the entrance.
• Fifth pedestal from the left of the entrance.
• Fourth pedestal from the left of the entrance

You’ll hear a coin-jingling sound after each correct activation. Once completed, the barrier will unlock, allowing you to proceed to the Ransacked Camp, where you’ll face another group of Venatori.

Crossing the Broken Bridge

• Follow the marker along the shore until you reach a broken bridge. Nearby, find a receptacle where you’ll need to insert a power crystal.
• Turn right and follow the shoreline path to a waterfall. Behind a rock near the waterfall, you’ll find the power crystal. Insert it into the receptacle to repair the bridge.
• Cross into the Reconstructed Ruins and continue along the path through the red door, facing more Venatori along the way.

The Venatori group here is quite large and can be overwhelming. Use area-of-effect spells or abilities to manage them easily.

Second Puzzle - opening the door with symbol locks

The final obstacle before the prisoner involves solving a symbol puzzle to deactivate a barrier. Here’s how to solve it:

Stand at the room entrance and face the blue barrier. You’ll notice three of the four required symbols above the door, with the fourth symbol broken off and on the floor.

Activate symbols in this order:

• Symbol directly to the right of the blue barrier door.
• First symbol from the left of the entrance.
• Second symbol from the right of the entrance.
• Symbol parallel to you to the left of the blue barrier door.

Once the correct sequence is completed, the barrier will disappear, and you can enter to rescue the Dalish prisoner.

• After freeing the prisoner, head back towards the entrance of the ruins to investigate supply boxes and a Venatori body. This will trigger an update to speak with Strife and Irelin, who have just arrived on the scene.
