Dragon Ball Xenoverse will not include the original Dragon Ball series and will focus primarily on Dragon Ball Z and GT according to a recent interview conducted by J-patrol.
In an interview conducted by J-patrol at the recent Jump Fest, Bandai Namco’s Community Manager Tony managed to answer several questions from fans about the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse game, some of which were pretty surprising.
Apparently the biggest info he let out was that the original Dragon Ball series will not be featured in Dragon Ball Xenoverse at all. This includes both characters and even stages from the original Dragon Ball series. So die-hard fans might find that a bit hard to swallow.

The game will instead focus on events from the Dragon Ball Z timeline. This includes GT as well as events from the recent “Battle of Gods” movie. Tony also mentioned that more characters will be revealed from the Dragon Ball GT series in the days to come. He did not give a hint as to who these characters are, but they should be revealed soon enough, especially since the games release date is pretty close.
Tony also revealed that the final build of Dragon Ball Xenoverse will include at least 20 stages, but he did not mention the number of fighters that will be included. Instead, he told players to wait and find out for themselves.
In the meantime, check out some of the new characters and achievements of the upcoming Dragon Ball Xenoverse. Also be sure to check out the interview with Tony below:
