THQ officially closed down in 2013, but one thing we can be sure of is that, the games they left behind will be in our hearts for a long time. THQ has entertained fans all over the globe by publishing epic games that we just could not put down. Sadly, they could no longer continue to do so. But as the saying, ‘don’t cry because its over, smile because it happened’ goes, let's not dwell on sad events but rather remember all the good times that THQ have given us. #5 Titan Quest

In 2006, THQ managed to temporarily satisfy fans crying for a new Diablo by releasing this splendidly entertaining action-Role Playing Game that proves that an enormous world with hordes of colossal monsters is enjoyable almost every time. You play as a private in the Temporal Corps, sent back in the past to thwart Zeke S. Vettenmyer, who has also gone into the past and altered history causing multiple problems. You need defeat Zeke and fight for the future that defines your very existence. Titan Quest may not have had any new elements from other games in its genre, but it’s still quite an achievement to make simple hacking and slashing as fun as this.

#4 Saint Row 2

While some may consider it as a cheap GTA knockoff, a lot of fans could not help playing Saints Row 2. Why? Simple; because it was so much fun. The presentation may lack polish, the writing may be tasteless and the focus, aimless but it was still so enjoyable. Where Saints Row made a marked improvement on the GTA series' controls, Saints Row 2 makes a remarkable improvement on almost every other level. Saints Row 2’s presentation may not have been top-notch, but its combat play was epic. You could do anything like surf on a car for no reason, or ride golf carts through a mall while doing a drive-by, all happening with awesome music in the background.

#3 Locks Quest

Lock's Quest, released on the Nintendo DS, is one of the most unique games published by THQ. It’s a simple tower defence game made exciting by direct character control and RPG elements. In the game, players build walls and construct turrets to later fight among them. The ability to directly control Lock on the battlefield adds entirely different elements to tower defence, where Lock's location, health, and special abilities all factor into the decision making process. As a tower defense game, it difficulty isn’t too tough at the beginning, but the later levels really quite challenging. Whether you like tower defence games or not, Lock's Quest is truly enjoyable.

#2 Red Faction: Guerilla

When Red Faction: Guerrilla came out, everyone was all praises for Geo-Mod 2.0., an engine which enabled unmatched destruction. There was no need to single out an enemy to kill him, as long as you could bring the house down on him, literally. Guerrilla explores terrorism in an almost uncomfortable way, by executing it perfectly. Throwing away a life in an explosive raid is okay to do within the game since you would just get a new guy and go at it again. Expertly paced, with a campaign that rose into out of control carnage, Guerrilla may have been unrefined at times but it sure was fun.

#1 Company of heroes

Just as we thought the world was getting tired of WWII setting games, out came Company of heroes and fans were all over it. It is one of the first games that made use of advanced graphics, most notably, destructible environments which had a huge effect on game-play. For example, raining tank shells would create craters that your infantry could use as cover. Small details like that kept game-play fun and dynamic and was also a refreshing twist to past games. The game was tough, gritty and oddly beautiful and it turned its creator into a giant amongst the strategy genre.
