Varre's questline in Elden Ring is one of the most complicated ones, not only due to its seemingly arbitrary requirements but also because the game's PvP elements are weaved into the series of missions. Although this quest series starts fairly early on in-game, right after the Tarnished sets foot on Limgrave, it spans almost the entirety of Elden Ring's main story, concluding in the Mohgwyn Dynasty.

Varre is one of the very first NPC players meet upon starting their quest to become the Elden Lord. Although he initially comes across as somewhat hostile, crowning the Tarnished with terms like "Maidenless," he softens up a bit once players start completing his quest objectives.

Much like any other questline in this title, the one tied to Varre is entirely optional. However, if you want a straightforward route to Mohgwyn Dynasty, a place that is one of the necessities for the upcoming Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, then completing this series of objectives is probably the best option for you.

Here's a comprehensive guide on how to finish Varre's questline.

How to complete Varre's questline and reach the Mohgwyn Dynasty in Elden Ring

Varre's questline starts as soon as you talk to him in Limgrave, near The First Step Site of Grace. Although his dialogue is very cryptic, all he means to say is he wants to use you as a conduit to gather information on the plans and motives of the Two Fingers. After talking to Varre, your first goal is to defeat Godrick the Grafted and gain his Remembrance.

Once you defeat this being, return to Varre and talk to him. The NPC will then have you head over to the Roundtable Hold and interact with the Two Fingers and Enia. Once you do that, go to Liurnia, and you will find Varre near the entrance of Rose Church. Do be careful when arriving at this location since it's guarded by a Sanguine Noble.

After you talk to Varre at the Rose Church, tell him that the Two Fingers "didn't seem right." This will progress his quest, with you getting access to Festering Bloody Fingers. Varre essentially gives you five of these. Festering Bloody Fingers are used to initiate an invasion.

Do note that to complete the next step of this questline, you need to be online. Additionally, if you're on a console, you must have an active PlayStation Plus or an Xbox Live subscription. Your next task is to invade at least three worlds. Thankfully, your invasion doesn't need to be successful for you to progress the questline.

As such, even if you die in any of the invasions, they still count towards the total required for the questline. Once you complete three invasions, return to Varre, and he will give you the Lord of Blood’s Favor, which you need to soak in the blood of a maiden to progress Varre's questline.

This part is a bit tricky since the NPC doesn't specify where you can find such a maiden. However, if you explore Liurnia, you will eventually arrive at the Church of Inhibition north of Lake of Liurnia. In this place, you will find a dead maiden, who you can interact with to dip the Lord of Blood's Favor in blood.

After soaking the fabric, return to Varre, and he will anoint you as one of the knights of Mohg, Lord of Blood in Elden Ring, and give you the Pureblood Knight's Medal. You can use this to instantly teleport over to Mohgwyn Dynasty.

Do note that this is an end-game area, and while you can access it pretty early, you won't get much far if you're under-leveled.
