Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree guide: How to show new and recent items in inventory

Following the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's release, this game now lets you specifically see recently added items in your inventory. With this feature, whenever you acquire fresh items, an exclamation mark will pop up on those items to separate them from the rest. As you explore new areas within the DLC and get various resources, weapons, Spirit Ash summons, and more, locating them will be much easier through this feature.

How to make recently added items show up in inventory in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree

The recent update in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree now lets you view all your latest acquisitions. If you open your inventory, these new items will be organized under their tab. However, this feature is not activated automatically. You have to enter the game settings and manually enable it.

Follow the steps below:

• Go to the System settings.
• Navigate to the Display tab.
• Turn on these two settings: Mark New Items and Show Recent Items Tab.

Subsequently, you can visually identify your new items in the game.

If the Mark New Items option is enabled, a small yellow exclamation mark will appear at the top left of an item's icon in the inventory whenever you acquire something new.

This indicates that without relying on having enabled the Recent Items Tab setting (which would display all acquired items), players can still easily spot their new acquisitions at a glance through these distinctive markers placed on items.

2) Show Recent Items Tab

Meanwhile, if the Show Recent Items Tab option is enabled, it appears as the first tab in the inventory. It displays 100 of your most recently acquired items in sequential order through a list. This means you do not have to go through the hassle of searching for them among the multitude of other things in your collection just to check a newly acquired weapon's stats.

Even if you have not enabled this setting, the game still records all your acquisitions. Thus, when you eventually activate it, the Recent Items tab will show the newer ones.
