Belurat Gaol: Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Walkthrough: How to complete the Belurat Gaol dungeon

The Belurat Gaol cave in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree is a minor dungeon you can clear to earn some loot and fight a mini-boss. Although this area is optional and you can choose to ignore it, it's a great place to explore if you want a great Spirit Ash summon to use during fights. All you have to do is take a detour, go inside the dungeon, loot the items, and kill the boss to get the prominent reward.

If you want to explore the Belurat Gaol dungeon in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, first navigate to Greatbridge, North Grace. Following that, travel across the lake to the west. Look for an entrance guarded by metal fences; go inside, follow the pathway, and you will find the Belurat Gaol Grace.

Belurat Gaol dungeon in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: Walkthrough

Continue forward from the Belurat Gaol Grace site, and you'll come across a metal gate. Be careful as you go down the narrow stairs, as a Shadow Undead will attack you from the left. Kill him and go inside the cage to find a Frozen Maggot.

Afterward, continue down the stairs, and eventually, the stairs will break and you will fall (don't worry, you won't take any damage). Then you can kill the enemies around, as they are quite easy to deal with and will give you good runes in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

Proceed to cross the narrow bridge and you will encounter another Frozen Maggot on the right side. Then, move forward and look right to see a triangular hole. Jump inside there and continue forward to the next room. Here, you can find a Broken Rune. Then go out of the next doorway and look for the Thawfrost Boluses on the right ledge.

Move forward to the left-side doorway, and you will come across an NPC to talk with. After you exit the doorway, go to the right side, and you can see a room with a Shadow Realm Rune inside. However, be careful of the blob monster in there and its self-explosion attack.

After going outside, you can see numerous pots hanging in the middle. Jump down to the nearest pot and slowly maneuver to the next one. As you're on the fifth pot, look behind you toward a wooden platform. Get down there and loot a chest with a Hefty Cracked Pot inside.

Get down on the floor, head straight to the doorway at the front, and then cross the bridge. Be careful of the pot-headed blobs here, as they will sprint across and jump on you. After going past them (or killing them), the stairs will collapse, and you will fall.

After landing, move forward and look to the left to see a pot-headed blob enemy you must kill to unlock a new path. With pots all around, this place can be a bit tricky. You must go around the pots and search the place thoroughly to find the following items:

Lost Ashes of War
2 Smithing Stones (6)
2 Hefty Cracked Pots
Innard Meat
Greater Potentate's Cookbook (11)

You also have to go above the pots to find a few loots. Thus, take your time to properly explore this area in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree.

After you're done, go to the place where you fell and proceed left, and you will see a path going down. Move forward, jump across the gap, and kill the enemies there. Following that, go to the right side and look down to see a hanging pot. Jump down there and wait a few seconds for it to go up.

Following this, jump to the next pot, then to the platform, and cross two more pots until you finally find a door. Go inside to pick up the Greatjar, then go to the left ledge and jump down to the large pot room. Again, follow the left path to go inside the doorway.

Hop across the gap, and you can see a hanging pot on the front side. Jump to that, then to the pillars, then fall, and you will finally reach the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree boss, Demi-Human Swordmaster Onze.

While Demi-Human Swordmaster Onze in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree may be small, his swiftness is such that it can easily go unnoticed to your utter destruction if you fail to heed his agility and relentless strikes. You can call forth your Spirit Ash. Not that it would be essential to slay him, although it certainly can make the task easier.

Swordmaster Onze will perform quick slashes and stabs with his sword while near you, frequently flipping back and forth in the air to adjust the gap between you both. He also executes this move directly from his smoky teleporting action. These attacks can inflict Frostbite rather quickly.

There are instances where he floats just above the ground and spins around you, typically to move to your backside for a sudden thrust or vertical slash. Make sure to keep him in sight to dodge the attacks.

One of his distinctive moves is a magical grab attack, which he can only execute if you linger near him for some time. You can evade this attack by ensuring constant mobility throughout the encounter and avoiding standing directly beside Onze.

It is important to note that Swordmaster Onze can parry your attacks if you slash repeatedly, thus, exposing you to another slash from him. However, it is possible to dodge through or move away from these attacks if they are timed well.

Onze will also unleash an AoE blade flurry attack. Look for his sword-lifting animation with an upward motion that precedes multiple wind slashes emanating from his surroundings.
