The EPG-1 is a grenade launcher that is available as a special weapon only through rift relics in Apex Legends. Rift relics spawn randomly at different locations on the map. You must locate and destroy one to reveal the weapon.

It’s important to note that the drop chance for the EPG-1 in Apex Legends is random. As mentioned earlier, the weapon is currently not available in ranked mode.

How to use

The EPG-1 in Apex Legends does AOE damage. It also deals more than 100 damage on a direct hit.

As a grenade launcher, the EPG-1 does splash damage, making it most effective when used from an elevated position. For this reason, characters with abilities to easily gain high ground, such as Horizon, Pathfinder, and Octane, pair well with this weapon.

Additionally, the EPG-1 can be used for advanced movement techniques, such as propelling yourself in the air by jumping and shooting the floor simultaneously, aka rocket jumping.

Community feedback

The EPG-1 is currently seen as overpowered, with a large chunk of the Apex Legends community calling for a nerf. It deals over 100 damage on a direct hit and has a large blast radius, making its attacks nearly impossible to dodge, especially when fired from an elevated position.

The weapon is intimidating to face, and the best counter strategy is often to run away.
