G2 Esports recently secured their very first CS2 trophy after defeating Team Vitality at IEM Dallas 2024. After this tournament, a clip of their AWPer m0NESY going from the airport straight to the London OVO Arena Wembley went viral on popular social media platform X. The player made it to the arena just in time for his matchup against Team Vitality for the BLAST Spring Finals 2024. The clip was posted by the official G2 handle on June 13, 2024.
Fans in the comment section were thoroughly impressed by the player's dedication and his not asking for any rest or refreshments as he got into his gaming chair for the Counter-Strike 2 tournament.

In the meantime, others also pointed out how the driver of the car had clearly prioritized the player reaching the arena in time to make it for the matchup. They believed that the driver should have been rewarded.
There were also fans who appreciated the respect shown by the player as he stayed behind to shut the car's doors before departing for the arena and being greeted by the crowd.
However, some fans had their focus on the current situation. G2 ended up losing to Team Vitality, a team they defeated to secure their IEM Dallas trophy earlier this year.
Another fan pointed out how the airport was just the next step for not only G2 but also m0NESY. During the matchup, the player had been heard saying that he hoped he wouldn't have to go back to the airport so soon.
Finally, one X user seemed upset with the player. They accused him and G2 of stalling for the team so that everyone had more time to prepare for their epic clash against Team Vitality.
m0NESY and his story leading up to the BLAST Spring Final
By all means, the Russian AWPer was not going to make it to the BLAST Spring Final. He was initially replaced by the team's coach TaZ because visa issues prevented m0NESY from getting to the venue.
After missing out on their opening match against Spirit, it seemed difficult for the player to actually make it to the next matchup. However, he was able to arrive at the OVO Wembley arena at the very last minute as seen in the video.
The player claimed that he had not played the game in about two days and since he was late to the venue, he did not have time to warm up. Perhaps all of these reasons played a part in G2 getting eliminated from the event after losing to Vitality.
