Ubisoft have revealed that they had early plans to develop Far Cry 3.5 , but abandoned the project and started the Far Cry 4. The producer of Far Cry 4 Dan Hay told in thier UbiBlog, that the team had an “option of making a 3.5“ , that would have been the sequel to Far Cry 3 with the same characters and locations. They also planned to expand Jason’s story and was considering a way back to even bring Vaas into the story.
But the discussion didn’t last “more than four days” as Ubisoft scrapped off that project. Finally, they zeroed on starting a fresh project and a new storyline with more actions, and thus started Far Cry 4.
Hay mentioned that in this game there are a lot of “franchise firsts” like riding and smashing the places with an Elephant, riding the gyrocopter among many things. He also said that this time around they have built the game’s narrative to complement the gameplay. The game’s hero Ajay Ghale knows “relatively thin” about the land of Kyrat and will grow alongwith the game.
The players choices in the game plays a vital role as the dev team has made that depending on the players choices some contents wont be available, giving a unique experience of the game to each and every one. In short, your Ajay Ghale will be different from my Ajay Ghale. Hay said, “When you you’re done playing Far Cry 4 and you talk to a friend about it, they will have a subtly different experience, They will grow up a little different.” The game offers around 35 hours of intense gameplay on average including the side missions.
Far Cry 4 will be released worldwide on November 18 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
