What's the story?
FIFA Mobile continues to amaze us all with its unique player rating method, and this time around, it is Tottenham Hotspur's star attacker Heung Min Son who is the subject of today's debate. Son, who is a crucial player for Spurs but not a regular starter, ranks ahead of several star forwards in the latest FIFA Mobile attacker ratings.
In case you didn't know...
Son hasn't had a brilliant start to his 2017-18 season with Spurs but the South Korean forward is a vital component for both his club and country. However, the 25-year-old's name atop the attacker ratings leaderboard has come as a surprise to many.

The heart of the matter
Son's incredible attacker rating of 104 is better than every player on this planet. New Bayern Munich signing James Rodriguez is just behind the South Korean, while Paulo Dybala follows him. Son clocks a pace rating of 108, a shooting rating of 103, a pace rating of 93, a dribble rating of 103, making him the current best attacker in FIFA Mobile.
While the Korean continues to raise eyebrows, Real Madrid's superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are way below Son. Both Ronaldo and Bale's attacker rating is 101, three less than Son.
Son aside, a few other shocking names are ahead of Ronaldo and Bale, with the likes of Luis Muriel, Lukas Podolski, Sebastian Giovinco, Jordan Morris and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the two Galacticos. While the reality might show these players up if you weigh them against Ronaldo and Bale, FIFA Mobile's quirky ratings certainly make them better than they really are.
What's next?
FIFA Mobile will continue to update their ratings as we dig our teeth into the new season of world football and promises some interesting changes throughout the course of the season. However, the launch of FIFA 18 on 29th September could also see a newer version of FIFA Mobile.
Author's take
Like Ronaldo and Bale for their respective national teams, Son is also a big star in South Korea but quite how he deserves his lofty FIFA Mobile attacker rating is anyone's guess. That said, the mobile version of EA Sports FIFA continue to surprise us with new ratings.
