What’s the story?

The FIFA 17 winter upgrades for the players in La Liga was released by EA Sports earlier yesterday, where players have got upgrades and downgrades to their EA ratings. EA has revealed the list of players who have who have had their ratings permanently updated as part of the Ratings Refresh campaign in FIFA Ultimate Team 17.

In case you didn’t know…

Last week, EA had announced that hundreds of players will have their ratings permanently changed over a 10-day period. The upgrades for Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1 had been released earlier.

The heart of the matter

Among the players receiving an upgrade were Barcelona’s Gerard Pique, who’s rating went up by one point to 87. Real Madrid’s Daniel Carvajal and Marco Asensio also saw their ratings go up by one point to 84 and 82 respectively while Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco’s rating was boosted by two points to 84.

Barcelona’s Javier Mascherano and Andre Gomes each saw their ratings go down by one point to 84 and 83 respectively. Real Madrid’s Danilo got a downgrade as well.

What’s next?

Until now, the ratings refresh of only four leagues, viz. Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga, have been released. The upgrades for the other players will be rolling out by 27 February.

We didn’t expect any major changes in the La Liga. While EA could have handed Lionel Messi an upgrade, given his current form, it is understandable why they didn’t do so. All the changes seem justified and fans can only get excited at the prospect of playing with the upgraded players.
