Stick to what players are good at

Defensive Midfielders

'Powerhouse' will be the best card to apply to any deep-lying midfielder in your team. This chemistry style will increase both long and short range passing ability, whilst also improving your player's defensive rating. If you are simply looking for a midfield destroyer, you can apply the previously mentioned 'Sentinal' card, as this will increase defensive skills and physicality. That chemistry style was of course listed on the defender's page, but the cards can be used on any player in the game without penalty so go ahead and use that style.

Central Attacking Midfielders

This is where you must decide if you want your attacking midfielders to be scoring goals or getting assists. The only card that will increase passing, dribbling and shooting skills is the 'Maestro' chemistry style, but due to spreading over three stat categories, the skill increases will not be as big. The 'Artist' card will give you the best results if you are strictly looking for a player such as Mesut Ozil in your team as it will result in a major creativity rating boost.
