Bayern Munich are easily having one of their worst seasons in recent history. Things have not gone the way they wanted under new manager Niko Kovač but it looks like they are slowly and steadily getting things back on track.
Ageing wingers, miss firing forwards, and slow defenders have all contributed to their downfall and it is no surprise that they are chasing young stars in the transfer market. However, their slow start to the season is going to have a big impact on FIFA 19 and there are a few Bayern players who will get a downgrade.
Here are three Bayern Munich players who will get a downgrade:
#3 – Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer has not been the same ever since he got injured at the start of last season. The German made a comeback just before the World Cup but has been woeful since then. The goalkeeper has been quite slow, his reflexes haven't been quick enough and also is positioning has also been questionable.
Meanwhile, his main rival for the German #1 jersey, Marc-André ter Stegen has been on top of his form for Barcelona. The former Borussia Mönchengladbach has been one of the best in LaLiga, if not the world. He is set to get a rating boost of +1 in the winter refresh – taking him from 89 to 90.
Neuer, who is rated at 90 right now, might not remain there. The Bayern star has not been able to justify his rating and it would not be a good thing to keep him on par with ter Stegen.
A downgrade of 1, if not more, should be handed to Neuer by EA when the rating refresh happens.
#2 – Arjen Robben
Age has finally caught up on Arjen Robben and he is on a rapid decline. The Bayern Munich legend is on his way out of the club at the end of the season as his contract expires in the summer.
The Dutch winger has lost pace and is no longer the threat he used to be. Running down the right wing, cutting in and scoring with a curled shot with his right foot will forever be a memory in every football fans mind. But that is not something he has managed to do often this season.
Rated at 85 in FIFA 19, Robben is now set for a downgrade. His pace stat had already fallen below 80 but now, his shooting stat and dribbling might also take a huge hit. The Dutchman might see his overall rating drop to 84 or 83 when the winter rating refresh happens in February.
#1 – Jérôme Boateng
While his brother, Kevin-Prince Boateng has impressed at Sassuolo and earned himself a move to Barcelona, Jérôme Boateng has been suffering at Bayern Munich. The defender has been replaced by Niklas Süle in the starting XI and it looks like the 23-year-old has sealed the spot.
Boateng had a woeful World Cup as well but EA still decided to give him a rating of 86 in FIFA 19. He has done very little to justify the rating and with him on a massive decline, EA might just reconsider giving him such a good rating.
While he might not be given a huge downgrade straight away, they might bring him down to 85 and push Sule also to the same rating or higher to justify what's happening on the pitch. His defending stats will most probably be the one affected the most – coming down from 85 to 80.
