Liverpool are on a roll this season. They are on top of the Premier League table and are through to the next round of the Champions League and FA Cup, and Jurgen Klopp is getting a lot of praise for it.
The Liverpool players have been in high demand in the FIFA 19 and their demand is just going to go up even more. Here are the 3 Liverpool players who deserve an upgrade:
#3 – Virgil van Dijk
Let's start with the most obvious one. Virgil van Dijk has been the stand out player for Liverpool this season and the impact he has on the team is unmatched. The Dutchman has shown what the team was missing in the first half of last season and with his leadership skills, the Reds are keeping the opponents quiet in almost every game.

Van Dijk, a £75 million signing (world record for a defender), has proved that he is worth every penny they paid for him. The centre-back has been the nightmare for all the strikers and Troy Deeney, Watford's forward, has openly admitted it too. He said, “I’ve said it many times, I hate him. I hate going up against him. He’s too big, too strong, too quick, too good on the ball, loves fighting, a good head of hair,” to BBC Radio 5.
Van Dijk's base card stands at 85 right now and he will be one of the firsts to get an upgrade when the rating refresh happens. He has SIX other cards in Ultimate Team as well – two cards at 86, two at 87, one POTM card at 89 and a TOTY card at 95!
While his upgrade might not be a huge one, a push to 86 or 87 – similar to his TOTW cards is very likely.
#2 – Joe Gomez
While everyone was having their eyes on Van Dijk, Joe Gomez was quietly delivering some sensational performances. The 21-year-old centre-back managed to keep out Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip from the Liverpool starting XI before getting injured.
Gomez doesn't have a highly rated card in FIFA 19 like his centre-back partner and his base card is only at 76. He has a UCL card rated at 77 as well but everyone will agree that he deserves better ratings.
Ideally, EA should push him to 81 – on par with Dejan Lovren but looking at the previous upgrades given in FIFA 18 and 17, Gomez might be stuck at 80. However, his defending and physical stats, that stand at 76 and 75 respectively, are sure to be pushed above 80, and his card will also become a rare gold one as well.
#1 – Andrew Robertson
Another Liverpool defender who has impressed a lot is Andrew Robertson. The left-back has been brilliant in attack and defence this season and is proving to be a bargain buy at £8 million for the Reds.
With his base card set at 81, Robertson's performances have surely made it clear to EA that he is worth a lot more. He does have a TOTW card rated at 84 and it is the 2nd best card for a Premier League left-back – just behind Marcos Alonso's Europa League RTTF card at 86.
While EA might not get his base card up to 84, it is very likely that his new ratings will be at 83 when the rating refresh happens in February. Anything below that would be a questionable move by EA and given the amount of backlash they are getting this year, they might just give the players what they want.
