Flick is a newcomer to the Animal Crossing series and while you can’t have him as a permanent villager, Flick has still become a popular character alongside his partner CJ. When he comes around the island, players usually flock to him in order to get a chance to earn a lot of bells.

Personality

Flick has been seen to have a strong affection for bugs and critters so much that he seems to have based his whole life around them. He believes that each species has their own personality and quirks, with him eager to get them from the player’s inventory. He loves to study them and also makes sculptures of any and all bugs.

Flick is also roommates with CJ, an otter who acts very similar, in game, to Flick. As they are both business partners and roommates, the two talk about, and to, each other quite often, though mostly on good terms.

Appearance

Flick Pokemon Appearance

Flick is a chameleon and while he does have the ability to change into any color, he seems to be happy with his mostly red look. He has spots and stripes along his body with yellow horns and purple eyes. Flick can be seen wearing a biker jacket with plaid pants and is always seen carrying a net with him. That also happens to be black and adorned with spikes, a nod to his look.

Role of Flick in New Horizons

While he may not be able to be a permanent resident, Flick is able to visit your village once a week, depending on if your island has a town hall. One you visit him, Flick will offer to buy any and all bugs that you have in your inventory for double the price. Because of this, many players save the rare bugs that they catch and wait for Flick to come to sell them at a profit. Aside from buying bugs, Flick will also offer to make sculptures of any bug, so long as you have three of them in your inventory.

Every once in a while Flick will host a bug off, where the more bugs you catch in a time limit, the more rewards you will earn. The event lasts only for a day and the rewards are exclusive to the event, so if you miss out you will not be able to get the items until the next bug off. Because of this, players, who are interested, keep a close eye on upcoming bug off dates.

Trivia

  1. Flick is the son of Nat, who used to host the Bug Off in both New Leaf and City Folk
  2. Flick shares a birthday with Patty and Bessie
  3. Flick is roommates with CJ
