FragPunk is a new 5v5 first-person hero shooter game developed by Bad Guitar Studio and is currently in playtesting. The developers are yet to announce an official release date, but the game will soon be available to those selected for the closed beta test.
FragPunk Gameplay
Deadlock is a unique hero shooter that mixes the classic first-person shooter with power-up cards to gain an advantage. In this game, players get to select from a selection of 10 unique characters. They would get to select their weapon from 15 available guns. Like characters, the weapons also have special traits.
The power-up cards are a huge part of the FragPunk gameplay. Now, the players must destroy Patron to win the match. Even if players have their backs against the wall, it's not the end. There would be 70 Shard Cards with an activatable selection that changes every match, providing unique possibilities. These cards can offer players various perks like super-jump, switching the roles of attackers and defenders, or engulfing the bullets in the fire of lightning. Moreover, these cards can also resurrect a player and their team.
This upcoming 5v5 hero FPS also has many exciting maps for players to master. The maps have a rich design with an interesting mix of realistic and stylized textures. Moreover, they feature various visual effects like collages and graffiti.
FragPunk Platforms
FragPunk is currently available via a closed beta test for its supported platforms: Windows PC and Xbox Series X/S. The developers haven't shared any plans to release Deadlock on Sony PlayStation.
How to get started with FragPunk?
FragPunk hasn't officially released yet and is only available in closed beta. So to get this new 5v5 hero FPS, gamers need to follow the steps mentioned below for Windows PC and Xbox.
Windows
Windows users need to create a Steam account and press "Request Access" to enroll for the closed beta. If selected, the button will be changed to "Play," and players will also receive a mail confirming their participation in the beta.
Xbox
Xbox users would need to download the Xbox Insider Hub app and sign in with their Xbox account. Go to Previews and look for FragPunk to join, which will register the player for the closed beta.
