What happens if you remove the bodies in Frostpunk 2?
Choosing to remove the bodies will allow you to build more Extraction Districts, specifically on three Oil tiles, maximizing the Oil production from the Old Dreadnought. Although this may provide immediate access to greater resources that will help you with the city’s expansion and survival, it comes with significant consequences.

Later in the game, around Week 330, a group of Wanderers arrive. You must either hand over Oil or defend by sending Guard Squads to the Old Dreadnought. If you have removed the bodies, you will find that the Wanderers demand more resources—30,000 Oil or 12 Guard Squads on the easiest difficulty setting (Citizen).
What happens if you respect the dead in Frostpunk 2?
On the other hand, if you choose to respect the dead, you can only build on two of the three available Oil tiles at the Old Dreadnought. While this limits your Oil output, this choice has several long-term benefits. Firstly, you can decide to build on the third tile later.

However, building in this area increases the risk of Disease if all three tiles of the Extraction District overlap with the Diseased area. If you carefully manage where the districts are placed, you can effectively avoid this disadvantage.
Furthermore, respecting the dead significantly reduces the demands made by the Wanderers event in Week 330. You will need to provide only 24,000 Oil or maintain 8 Guard Squads on Citizen difficulty. Thus, the reduced burden of the Wanderers event makes it easier for you to manage.
