Coming into this Grand Final matchup, Fnatic was considered a clear favorite as it breezed past every team in the LEC Summer 2024 playoff stage. It already defeated G2 once in the Upper Bracket Final with a 3-2 scoreline. Hence, many expected Fnatic to finally win the LEC trophy after six years.
Due to Fnatic's Toplaner, Oscarinin, having a significant advantage in the opening game, the series also got off to a positive start. However, G2's Support, Mikyx, maneuvered prominently with his Poppy pick and dictated the late game. In the end, Hans Sama and Caps cleaned every Fnatic player to win the game for G2.

Similar things happened in the next two games. Fnatic's Noah was massively ahead compared to the enemy team and won every single team fight in the early stages. However, Fnatic was unable to snowball and capitalize on the advantages to close out the games.
In a post-game interview, G2's Caps shared an insight regarding these comeback wins saying:
"I think we have just been in a lot of those situations before. I think we've been a team for a long time now and we have very good ideas of, like, different game states and what we want to do. And I think, especially today, where we drafted a lot of late game and a lot of good comeback tools, especially with the Ornn and the Brand, Zyra doing a lot of work. "
Speaking about confidence, he further asserted:
"Even though we might have been 5–6k gold down, we still felt very confident. And all it took was one pick, one Baron, and then we turned around."

This proves how much mental resilience G2 players boast. Despite having shaky performances throughout the split, the team made great macro adjustments in the Grand Final. The clutch plays from the likes of Mikyx, BrokenBlade, and Yike were also impeccable. G2 has now won all three League of Legends LEC splits this year (Winter, Spring, and Summer).
