Despite the launch of Apex Legends Season 23 being right around the corner, Respawn hasn't released a single trailer for it. Due to the title's gameplay and number of active cheaters — which has been a problem for quite a while — it has been losing players over the season.
With just over a day (As of) left for Season 23 to arrive, one player on the official Apex Legends subreddit, u/Le_Swazey, commented on the lack of trailers for the upcoming season.
Trailers for new characters, maps, and more hypes up a season and makes the game much more enjoyable. As the developer hasn't offered one for Season 23, one disappointed fan feels:

“Apex used to feel like this cool world that was alive, with stories and characters with connections and backstories. The universe even had history that stretched into other games which got me interested in Titanfall. Game kinda feels soulless now tho.”
Another Apex Legends player, u/phobia3472, believes the trailers have become "very monotonous" over the years. They also feel that the developers are not introducing significant changes in every season and are storing all of it for one single update.

While most players talked about the old trailers and the state the title, user u/JopssYT expressed they think the developers didn't release a trailer for Season 23:
“I think right now they won't release trailers cus there's a strike going on with voice actors.”
Another disappointed player, u/Zealousidea_Lemon, believes that the reason for the decline in the title's popularity is Respawn's lack of promotion:
“They’re actively killing their game. Not promoting it, not servicing it effectively, adding more reskinned cosmetics for higher costs. Then they turn around and blame us and wonder why their game is dying.”

One user, u/I_Miss_The_90_s, had a theory about the possible reason for the lack of a trailer for Season 23:
“I think they are scared to get downvoted and get all the criticism. There are 100% internal problems we are not aware of, I think there is a full on s***show behind the curtains.”

How does the lack of trailers before a new Apex Legends season launch affect the game?
Since trailers generate excitement around upcoming characters, maps, and more, if players like the promotional video for a new season, they're more likely to tune into the update once it is launched. Without a trailer, there's less hype around upcoming content, which could lead to fewer people playing the game when it is launched.
Apex Legends Season 23 is taking players back to Season 0 with the Launch Royale. This mode will feature the original Legends, along with classic weapons and maps. Presumably, EA decided to not put out a trailer for this season because they didn't want to provide any major hints regarding this nostalgic game mode.
The studio seems to be adopting the Fortnite OG practice, and it would've have worked if people had already learnt about the content prior to its release.
That said, with Apex Legends not reaching its monetization targets, a lack of launch trailer does give out positive signs to the existing players.
