Banjo Kazooie was one of the best games that had been developed for the N64. This game was Rare’s pride and looked like it was going to become an instant classic! Rare reinvented this feeling when they remade this game for the Xbox 360. The repackaged version featured fluid controls, 1080p resolution and a more flexible data saving system. All this helped make the game a game for the ages.

#9 Doom

One of the best FPS games ever made, Doom (typeset as DOOM in official documents) is a 1993 science fiction, horror themed game developed by id Software. This game was an instant hit and loved by all and is regarded as one of the best games made for PC. It is a little known fact but Doom 3, is an actual remake of the original Doom. The game captured the essence of dark, well detailed graphics. The game came with a bunch of additional features, HD resolution and free copies of Doom and Doom II.

#8 Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

For those of you who have not played Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, I would request you to play it. It is an epic survival game and I am sure you would love it. This game had just one drawback, the top down camera angle. This awkward angle did not go very well with the forest surroundings as user found it difficult to explore. Here is where Metal Gear 3: Snake Eater HD comes in. As the name suggests the game was in HD and boasted a 3D camera. This allowed users to have an 360 degree view of their surroundings and made for an brilliant gaming experience.

#7 Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia as we all know is a fantasy platform video game that was originally released for the Apple II. The game has needs the prince (controlled by the player) to rescue the princess who has been captured by vizier Jaffar. The main objective of the original game is to complete it within one hour. The game was remade and we had, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. This game featured a 3D world unlike the original game. The amount of detailing and the different ways to slay opponents made this game a game worth playing.

#6 Super Mario 64

Well, needless to say, Mario deserves a spot in the list. Super Mario 64 was made for the Nintendo 64 and turned out to be one of the best games for the console. The world was open to exploration and one could spend hours playing the game. The game was remade for the Nintendo DS. Many new elements were added to the world and this resulted in drastic gameplay improvements. For example, players were allowed to play as Yoshi, Mario, Luigi and more, and the added multiplayer support made this game a game worth playing.

#5 Star Fox

We have all played this famed rail shooter on the Super Nintendo. Star Fox 64 was supposed to be a sequel to the original Star Fox on the Super Nintendo. However, this game was never released and a majority of the new elements introduced in the game were incorporated in Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 64. The game boasted heavily updated graphics and a cool new online multiplayer mode. This game was everything a Star Fox fan could wish for.

#4 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

If you ahve ever played this game, you will agree with me if i say that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was a master piece, a perfect example of what a well designed video game must look like. However, there are always those who try to find problems in it (like the Water Temple), and there are a few who wonder how the game can be improved. Grezzo and Nintendo came up with The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and provided the title with the best remake possible. The game had everything starting from detailed graphics to gyroscope support!

#3 Resident Evil

The original Resident Evil game had come out in the year 1996. This survival horror video game has provided us many reasons to be happy, releasing better games every year. However, the best remake of the original title was the Resident Evil made for the Nintendo GameCube. The remake featured all new graphics and sound, and also gameplay elements such as body language to indicate the player’s health. One of the best remakes ever, this one deserves the number three spot in the list.
