13 best games to play with your Girlfriend

Disclaimer: The below article may sound like this is an MCP writing. Trust me, it’s anything like that! I have the deepest respect for the fairer sex, but I have known the pain myself and a few fellow gamer friends of mine have gone through in choosing between the two loves of our life!!! Also, this is not a sure-fire full-proof article, therefore I am not responsible for any breakups this may cause!I know, or I have experienced, that video-games have always been a bone of contention when it comes to your girlfriends. Many of them do not share the same passion we have for our consoles, the same way many of us guys do not share their love for shopping and stuff. But we do have to tag along with them to keep them happy, ‘cos we love them, and they let us live in peace with our videogames, at least for some time.What if we can instil in them a common liking for our favorite past-time? This Valentine season, I present to you, a list of thirteen games that brings out the hidden gamer in your girlfriend. Please note that, I am not suggesting you do any of this on Valentine’s Day. So retract the claws, ladies!!!!

#13 Just Dance

The name itself gives you a fair idea of what to expect here. Girls love to dance, even if they sometimes say they don’t. Maybe, much better than you. She may even be begging to you to take her to the hottest pub or the next prom or something, but you are scared that you may not be able to match up to her steps. This is the best solution in hand. Try it out at home, and see if you have real crackling chemistry at dance.

A Word of Caution – Don’t try to step on her toes more than often! You will make her end up in a doctor’s care at the hospital, rather than in your arms at the club!

#12 World of Warcraft

Sorry to sound clichéd, but majority of the girls hates violent games. For some strange reasons, they don’t seem to find the same kind of pleasure we boys have in destroying Nazis and zombies. But give them something to build or strategize, and you really can’t get anything else out of them. That’s where World of Warcraft comes in handy, where there is every chance that she may come out tops whenever you start to play.

A Word of Caution – There is a possibility that she can turn a bit bossy during the gameplay, but I guess, you would have already known that avatar of hers by now….

#11 Guitar Hero or just any music based game

This is quite simple. There is no fighting, no violence, no guns, no big-muscled torso baring hunks (Thankfully for us!). There are just songs, and frankly which girl doesn’t love songs. So bring out the Beyonce Knowles and Justin Timberlake in you, and hit out a few numbers. You may never know how the evening can end….

A Word of Caution – DO NOT TRY THIS OUT if you have ever wooed her with a little help of your friend’s singing ability. Or, if she turns out to be the bad singer, DON’T EVER LAUGH AT HER. There is a cent percent chance that you will be spending the next Valentine’s Day alone!

#10 Temple Run

Another obvious choice. Temple run is a very popular game, almost played by everyone who has an android phone or a computer. So, how to play this one with your girlfriend? You start off first and then ask her to beat your score. It will begin an evening of fierce competition.

A Word of Caution – Things could turn out to be a bit fiercer, if either of you are not the one to let go so easily. Could easily result in physical altercation…

#9 Ms. Pacman

This game also requires no introductions. I am sure your girlfriend would have played Pacman. If not, fret not. This is still easy to explain. Ms. Pacman is slightly different from Pacman in the aspect that you have a female Pacman to play. So enjoy eating your way out of trouble…

A Word of Caution – If you turn out to be the reason she ever gets eaten, woe betide you!!!

#8 Angry Birds

Come on, don’t say your girlfriend hasn’t played this one! How do you think she takes out her anger without hurting you??? It is fun if both of you can bring your heads together and strategize ways to kill all the pigs. One of you can be the planner, while the other one can be the slingshot.

A Word of Caution – Not recommended if she is a PETA activist…

#7 Any Lego games series

Another very safe option, where you can have your share of action, and your girl still can find the characters cute. The Lego series have been making their mark in video-games and movies. The games have been very well-received, and can be enjoyed by anyone. So highly recommended! On a separate note, you can also rent the ‘The Lego Movie’ as a part of the evening fun package. #6 The Sims

The virtual simulation game is very popular, and easily a favorite among women for its similarities to real life and lack of senseless violence. They love to build a world of their own in here, and add a bit of their own unique touches to this world of theirs. There could be chances that you could be ignored as well…

A Word of Caution – Just don’t bring out your real-life problems into your virtual life…

#5 Mario Kart

Everyone loves Mario. Regardless of any gender or age, he is a perennial favorite. This game brings our favorite character into another of our favorite past-times – go-kart racing. Even if your better half, official or unofficial, is not a fan of speed, I am sure she would really enjoy this one for all its cutesy characters.

A Word of Caution – It’s racing, man! Can set up several scenarios where arguments can arise…and a few bones can be broken, mostly yours!

#4 Duck Hunt

The simplest of all games in this list. All you need is shoot down a few ducks with a gun. The animations are cute, the shooting is fun, and it can really keep your girl engrossed and lively. Plus, the annoying sniggering dog can make her snigger, or infuriate her more into shooting a few more ducks.

A Word of Caution – Again, not advisable if she is too fond of animals, or ducks in particular, that she might end up shooting you.

#3 Contra

I know this is an unconventional choice, but hear me out first. I agree, this has action and bullets and aliens, but there is another side too. There are girls who love action games, purely for brawn and adrenaline, and your girl might also be one of them. Also, the 2-player system in Contra is one of the best in any video-games.

There could be scenarios where your girlfriend’s avatar might be in trouble, your bullets could save her out. Or you could even jump in the front of her and take the bullet for her. This could be knight in shining armor kind of moment for her, and could earn you some really great brownie points in terms of chivalry. Guess, we can order the champagne now…

A Word of Caution – The dreaded Waterfall stage. Don’t let her lag behind…or you might have to keep hearing about it for the days to come…

#2 Kinect Disneyland Adventures

Now, not everyone can afford to go to the local amusement park, forget Disneyland. What if we can bring Disneyland right into our living room? With all its famed rides and characters? If this sounds incredible, then waste no time. Go, buy this game that would give you the virtual pleasure of visiting one of the most famous amusement parks in the world. You can even take pictures as you go, and above all, there are no annoying kids to bother you…Don’t forget to thank the developers for saving your face in some way.

A Word of Caution – There is quite a possibility that she might get so obsessed with the virtual park, that she will keep on telling you to take her to the real one. Sorry bro, no idea how to get of that mess! How about breaking your leg for real?

#1 L.A. Noire

If your girl is of the suspicious type, you can invest that special skill of hers in this highly acclaimed detective game. Here, cases are solved based on the suspect’s facial expressions and dialogues. If your girl can easily pick up when you lie, she can easily score here as well. However, you need to warn her that the game contains a few derogatory terms used for women.

A Word of Caution – Not sure about this, but I keep hearing about these rumors that this game actually helps in sharpening the woman’s already powerful suspecting instincts. If this is true, then say goodbye to Tinder!!!
