Genshin Impact 4.2 features: Quick Trounce Domain unlocks, Story Quest selection, Pin limit increase, and more

In the latest edition of the Developers Discussion, HoYoverse revealed that there will be several new QoL updates in the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.2 update. One of the major updates includes the Trounce Domain: Quick Challenge feature. This is meant for all the new players who want to level up their favorite characters but cannot because the domains are locked behind certain quests.

Another big update is related to Story Quest System Optimizations, which will allow players to unlock and accept quests separately to avoid character occupation. Genshin Impact players can learn more about the upcoming QoL updates in this article.

Genshin Impact 4.2 QoL update: Trounce Domain, Story Quest Optimization, and more

Trounce Domain: Quick Challenge

The Trounce Domain: Quick Challenge feature is one of the important updates in the upcoming Genshin Impact 4.2 update. It should be noted that these domains are generally locked behind Archon and Story Quests, and they cannot be accessed until the players complete these quests.

Luckily, the new feature will allow travelers above AR40 to use the Quick Challenge option to access the locked Trounce Domains in single-player mode. This means there will be no need to complete any prerequisite quests from Genshin Impact 4.2. However, it should be noted that travelers cannot use this feature to challenge Lupus Boreas since it does not have a separate Domain.

Story Quest System Optimizations

Often, players unlock several Story Quests at once before completing the Archon Quests, which can sometimes lead to character occupation issues. As a result, players get stuck and are unable to complete the quests. For that reason, the developers have announced a new QoL update that will allow travelers to unlock and accept these Story Quests separately.

This means that even if players unlock the Story Quests using the Story Key, the quest won't appear on the mission tab until they accept it, as shown in the image above.

Furthermore, if any Hangout Events or Story Quests have prerequisites that need to be met, a pop-up will appear listing all the content that needs to be completed first.

Map Function Optimizations

The developers have also announced that the Map Pins limit will be increased to 200. In addition, a new batch delete feature will be added, allowing travelers to delete old Pins in a batch to save time.

Genius Invokation TCG Optimizations

The upcoming Genshin Impact 4.2 update will add a new Accelerate Duel feature in the Genius Invokation TCG. This will fasten the animation for dice rolls, round hints, and other interfaces to reduce the time taken in each duel. Furthermore, another feature called Deck Sharing Code will be added for travelers to share their deck and use the one shared by others.
