Genshin Impact 5.3 patch notes

The Genshin Impact 5.3 update is scheduled to be released on January 1, 2025, at 11 am (UTC+8) across all the servers simultaneously, making it the game's first major update in the new year. The new version will introduce a ton of new content, including new playable characters, banners, events, character outfits, and in-game optimizations.

Genshin Impact 5.3 patch notes: New characters, banners, enemies, quests, and more

New playable characters

Version 5.3 will release the following three characters:

• Mavuika (5-star Pyro)
• Citlali (5-star Cryo)
• Lan Yan (4-star Anemo)

Both 5-star characters are from Natlan and most players would already be familiar with them. There will be a new 4-star unit as well named Lan Yan. She is from Liyue and will appear in the Lantern Rite event.

Two new 5-star weapons will be released in Genshin Impact 5.3. One of them is called A Thousand Blazing Suns and is Mavuika's signature Claymore. Meanwhile, the other is called Starcaller's Watch and is Citlali's signature Catalyst.
