The recently released Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer showcased glimpses of the final chapter of the Nation of Pyro, including some special new powers that the traveler will get. Besides showcasing part of Natlan's Archon Quests, the trailer revealed that we will receive the annual Lantern Rite Festival during version 5.3.
Here's a look at everything that was showcased in the Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer.
Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer breakdown
The 5.3 trailer kicks things off with a glimpse at Tao Dou, a giant tree that acts as a gateway to the afterlife according to the ancient tales of Liyue. Legends say that if you committed a crime in life, your soul won't be able to make it past the tree. The trailer transitions to the Lantern Rite Celebrations in Liyue, where we see two of our fiery friends in new attire.

HuTao and Xiangling are set to receive their new outfits this Lantern Rite and a minor detail that many might have missed is both of them are dressed for the festive season in winter garments. We then see another returning face, Yunjin, who will likely hold a performance alongside her Opera Troupe during the Lantern Rite.
Next, we get a look at Lan Yan, the latest character from Liyue who will join the cast, as well as her in action against a hilichurl. Afther this, we get glimpses of some familiar faces, as well as Xiao lighting up the Lantern for the festivities.
A little missable detail is HuTao standing in front of what is seemingly a smaller version of the Tao Dou tree, performing some kind of ritual, which fits perfectly for her given her role as the director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
The trailer transitions to Natlan, where the Pyro Archon Mavuika takes the field. We see her in action, riding a motorcycle. Besides that, we get a few glimpses of what looks like another tournament that will take place in the stadium and involve the Saurians, which may coincide with a Genshin Impact 5.3 event.
We get glimpses of both Mavuika and Citlali's gameplay, the new weekly boss, and then a bit of the story. We cut to The Capitano standing amid what appears to be the souls of his fallen comrades in the Night Kingdom. We then see Citlali most likely using her powers on the Traveler's ancient name, before both Mavuika and the protagonist go through what looks like a gate.
This gate will likely be the entrance to the depths of the Abyss, which the Pyro Archon asked us to accompany. This will likely be the final dungeon of the 5.3 archon quest. The Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer then showcases two structures: One is likely the Abyss and the other is likely part of the great spirit Wayob.
During the Genshin Impact 5.3 livestream, the developers stated that the Abyss will take on the form of a Sovereign Dragon, which we will see later in the trailer. There is a theory that the forgotten part of the Wayob was indeed one of the Dragons who ruled Teyvat.
The Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer then showcases the Pyro Archon and the Traveler in combat, and the people of Natlan standing in the Stadium of Sacred Flames, praying for their success.
This subsequently showcases the Sacred Flames getting extinguished before ominously cutting off to give us a look at the Abyss, which has taken the form of a Dragon Sovereign. The Traveler then gets imbued with the blessings of the Nightsoul, unlocking the Pyro element. After a short fight sequence, the Genshin Impact 5.3 trailer reveals the official artwork for the upcoming update.
The trailer ends with Mavuika in Genshin Impact walking toward what appears to be her impending "death" to end the eternal war against the abyss and free her people from their doom.
