Best characters for Fang of the Mountain King in Genshin Impact
Mountain King's Weapon is a brand-new weapon debuting in version 5.0 update. It provides its wielder with the following stats at level 90:
Moreover, it boasts the following passive effect at R1:
"Gain 1 Canopy's Favor stack after hitting an opponent with an Elemental Skill. This can be triggered once every 0.5s. After a nearby party member triggers a Burning or Burgeon reaction, the equipping character will gain 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 2s and can be triggered even when the triggering party member is off-field. Canopy's Favor: Elemental Skill and Burst DMG is increased by 10% for 6s. Max 6 stacks. Each stack is counted independently."
The above-mentioned stats indicate that this 5-star claymore will be well-suited for characters who require Crit Rate and rely on their Elemental Skill and Burst to deal the majority of their damage. Moreover, units from either the Dendro or Pyro elements will benefit the most due to the passive effect requiring Burning or Burgeon reactions to gain stacks quickly.
The following are the best characters to utilize Fang of the Mountain King in Genshin Impact:
1) Kinich
As expected, the best character for Fang of the Mountain King is Kinich, the latest 5-star character from the Dendro element, debuting in the second half of version 5.0.
The weapon's passive dovetails Kinich's kit perfectly as he relies on his Elemental Skill and Burst heavily to deal damage. Moreover, he can easily trigger the Burning or Burgeon reaction if paired with an off-field Pyro character.
2) Diluc
Diluc is one of the older 5-star claymore users in the game, present since version 1.0. While this weapon may not be the best choice for him, it can work well thanks to its high base attack and Crit Rate secondary stat.
Additionally, Diluc is a Pyro character, therefore, he can utilize the passive effectively when paired with a Dendro sub-DPS like Nahida.
3) Kaveh
Kaveh is the first Dendro claymore character in the game who debuted in version 3.6. He is capable of infusing his Normal Attack with Dendro after casting his Elemental Burst to form Dendro cores. By introducing a Pyro unit to his teams to trigger Burgeon, he can be a suitable option for Fang of the Mountain King in Genshin Impact.
4) Gaming
Similar to Diluc, Gaming is a claymore user wielding the Pyro element. He specializes in dealing Plunge damage via his Elemental Skill. Both his Skill and Burst are integral to his gameplay and can be buffed using Kinich's weapon by introducing an off-field Dendro unit to the team.
