Genshin Impact Narration Footnotes quest guide

Narration Footnotes is a World Quest in Genshin Impact 4.8. It takes place in the new Simulanka map featuring Kirara and some toy men trying to learn the truth about their clans. The quest is slightly long but it is fairly easy as you only have to solve a few simple Oracle Pillar puzzles and catch a culprit of a supposed crime. You will also get three chest rewards and 50 Primogems for completing this mission.

Talk to Kirara

Talk to Kirara once you reach the small island south of Constellation Metropole. This will start the Narration Footnotes quest in Genshin Impact.

Follow Kirara to the village ahead

Follow Kirara until a mysterious narrator starts talking.

Explore the path ahead and the future Marquis' Abode-to-Be

Once the cutscene ends, follow the quest navigation to enter a cave and sit on the large chair. This will trigger another brief cutscene.

Next, interact with the paper on the stone to get clues.

Pull out the great clockwork key

Hit the clockwork key using Normal Attacks a few times to weaken the structure. Once that is done, pull the key out and talk to the three toy men.

Defeat the opponent(s) standing before you

Defeat all the hilichurl and slime enemies.

Complete the Oracle Pillar's picture

Insert the key into the structure and keep hitting it with Normal Attacks until all the Oracle Pillars are fully out of the ground. Next, connect all the pillars in the Shape of Valor. You will get an Exquisite Chest for completing the puzzle.

Go to the sacred site of the Boborano clan and complete the Oracle Pillar's picture

Once again, insert the key into the structure and hit it to pull out all the pillars from the ground before completing the Oracle Pillar's picture. This time you must connect them in the shape of a key.

Note that one of the pillars is fake. Solving the puzzle will give you an Exquisite Chest, worth five Primogems in Genshin Impact.

You can also collect three chests on the porch, including one Precious Chest.

Go to the sacred site of the Albizzi clan and find the base of the great clockwork key

Head to the next quest location only to find a few guards protecting the entrance to the Albizzi clan's sacred site. Note that you cannot enter the place from the main gate. To get inside, use the secret route on the left side and follow the arrows.

Insert the key and destroy all the boxes before hitting the key. Finally, connect the Oracle Pillars based on the Albizzi clan's crest. Collect the chest to start the next cutscene.

Make a run and get out of the sacred site. Avoid stepping on the glue and use the Magic Thread to reach the designated location.

Go to Pendulum Lane & turn the clockwork base and rewind the truth

Head to the next quest location to find that someone has attacked the red toy man. Once the cutscene ends, hit the clockwork key to rewind the time and watch the events that took place.

Search for suspicious places and clues

Follow the quest navigations and look for clues before returning to Kirara at the crime scene.

Put the pickaxe back at the scene & turn the clockwork base and rewind the truth once more

Capture the mastermind

Use Kirara's Elemental Skill to climb the structures and capture the mastermind. It is worth adding that even if you fail the challenge, you can restart it from the crime scene.

Once you've caught the culprit, a long cutscene will begin and you will return to the crime scene. This will conclude the Narration Footnotes quest in Genshin Impact and you will be rewarded with 50 Primogems.
