Genshin Impact Natlan Monetoo locations

Monetoo in Genshin Impact is a new exploration mechanic exclusive to Natlan. They are strange creatures found in the wild and are Natlan's equivalent of Seelie in terms of overworld puzzles. You can find up to 47 Monetoo while exploring the nation of Pyro. Completing these Monetoo puzzles can reward you with a ton of chests and Primogems.

Monetoo #1

Go to the small lake south of the Statue of The Seven in Children of Echoes and indwell a Tepetlisaurus before entering the ground to solve the buried puzzle. This will spawn a Monetoo. Follow it to get a chest.

Monetoo #2 & #3

Teleport to Tepeacac Rise waypoint, and go south to find two large rocks with small holes and Monetoo graffiti on them. Climb the rocks, and stand inside the holes before matching the graffiti. This will summon two Monetoo, and give you an Exquisite Chest.

Monetoo #4

You can find one Monetoo on a rock in the riverside in west Tepeacac Rise.

A Monetoo can be seen near a wild Tepetlisaur on the table-top mountain southeast of Sulfurous Veins.

Monetoo #6, #7, & #8

Teleport to the western waypoint in Sulfurous Veins and go east to another table-top mountain, to find a Precious Chest puzzle that requires you to find three Monetoo. Here are the locations of all three:

Inside a cage south of the Precious Chest.
Collect all Embercore Flowers east of the chest to summon a Monetoo.
Inside a buried puzzle to the north of the chest.

Follow all three Monetoo back to their graffiti to get the Precious Chest in Genshin Impact.

From the previous Monetoo challenge, head southeast to find a Monetoo facing an Embercore Flower. Hit the flower to find another Monetoo. Follow them to get a chest.

Monetoo #11

Teleport to the waypoint on the table-top mountain in Sulfurous Veins and go south, to find a Monetoo near the Molten Fissure.

Monetoo #12

Teleport to the waypoint in the middle of Sulfurous Veins and go north, to find an Avatar of Lava sleeping next to a Monetoo graffiti. Defeat the mob and solve the buried puzzle to summon a Monetoo.

Monetoo #13, #14, & #15

Go to the pool southeast of Huitztli Hill to find a three-Monetoo-Luxurious-Chest puzzle. The locations of all three Monetoo are:

On top of the large rock pillar.
At the hilichurl camp in the pool.
Inside the buried puzzle.

Following all the Monetoo to their graffiti will unlock a hidden cave with a Luxurious Chest.

Monetoo #16

A Monetoo can be seen surrounded by six Anemo slimes north of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. Defeat the slimes and follow the Monetoo.

Teleport to the Statue of The Seven north of the Scions of the Canopy and go west for a Monetoo.

Monetoo #18

You can find one Monetoo inside a cage during the Genshin Impact Treasures and Collectors quest.

Monetoo #19, #20, #21, #22, #23, #24, & #25

Teleport to the waypoint in northwest Ameaylco Water and head northeast toward the waterfall, to find a couple of Saurian warriors and a Tepetlisaur. Indwell it, and dive into the ground to dig the Phlogiston pillar. Infuse it with Phlogiston to open the cave entrance. Head in and keep destroying the floor, until you reach the bottom.

This will teleport you to another location with one Monetoo. Follow it to get a chest. Once that is done, head deeper into the cave to find six more Monetoo. Follow them, and complete the Spiritwall puzzle for two Precious Chests and one Luxurious Chest. You will also get a Retrieve the Scattered, Escaping Colors achievement in Genshin Impact.

Head to the waterfall north of Ameyalco Waters to find a Monetoo floating near the tube at the top of a rock pillar.

Destroy the wooden boxes (Image via HoYoverse)

Teleport to the artifact domain in Ameyalco Waters and go east towards the spring, to find a few Koholasaurs, a Saurian warrior, a Remarkable Chest, and wooden boxes in the water. Break the boxes to spawn a Monetoo, then follow it.

You can find an underwater Luxurious Chest puzzle on a small island in People of the Springs. Solve the puzzle by finding all three Monetoo:

Trapped inside a cage - Defeat the mobs.
Trapped in a wind current - Move the concrete block using Saurian ability.
Inside a rock pillar - Defeat the Hydro slimes.

Follow them to the graffiti to get multiple chest rewards in Genshin Impact.

Use the Statue of The Seven in Ameyalco Waters and go northeast, to find a Monetoo inside a tube hanging from a tree.

Teleport to the northern waypoint in Ameyalco Waters, and go northeast to find a Yumkasaur sitting idly near a rock with graffiti. Indwelling the Saurian will summon a Monetoo from the graffiti.

Monetoo #35

Teleport to the northern waypoint in Teticpac Peak, and go northeast to find a Monetoo hidden behind a bush. Infuse it with Phlogistion and follow it to get an Exquisite Chest, worth five Primogems in Genshin Impact.

Monetoo #36

You can find a Saurian warrior and Yumkasaur staring at the graffiti on a rock near the Ancestral Temple. Defeating the mobs will spawn a Monetoo from the art.

Monetoo #37

Teleport to the northwestern waypoint in Ancestral Temple and go east towards the small broken bridge to find a Monetoo. Next, break the nearby wall with cracks.

One Monetoo can be seen on the small broken wooden platform on the cliff northwest of the Ancestral Temple.

You can find one Monetoo on the wooden ledge around the giant rock west of the Ancestral Temple.

Monetoo #40

A Monetoo can be found trapped inside a cage on the eastern bridge in the Ancestral Temple. Defeat the hilichurl and go behind the wall to destroy the wooden boxes. Next, move the pillar using Yumkasaur's ability to free this Monetoo in Genshin Impact.

Monetoo #41, #42, #43 & #44

There's a hidden cave in Teticpac Peak, that can only be accessed after collecting all six Broken Graffiti-Marked Stones. Once you've unlocked the cave, you can find four Monetoo inside, and following them will give you Precious and Luxurious Chest rewards.

Monetoo #45, #46, & #47

Teleport to the northern waypoint in Teticpac Peak and go east, to find a ruin with a Monetoo graffiti puzzle. Find the Monetoo in these locations:

First Monetoo is on the wall southwest of the ruin.
The second is inside the graffiti. Move the block to make the Monetoo appear, and remove the grappling hook.
Get down, install the hook on the block against the cage, and free the last Monetoo.

Follow the Monetoo to the graffiti and infuse the pillar with Phlogiston to get a Precious Chest in Genshin Impact.
