Pyro traveler's (MC) kit and playstyle in Genshin Impact, according to leaks

Hakush.in has leaked the complete kit of the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact. It is expected that this variant of the MC will become available to players in the upcoming 5.3 update, scheduled to arrive on January 1, 2024. Similar to other Natlan characters, it is speculated that the Traveler will also be able to utilize the Nightsoul mechanics.

Without further ado, here are details about the Pyro MC's abilities.

Elemental Skill

The Pyro Traveler's Elemental Skill in Genshin Impact is expected to be called Flowfire Blade and may have two variations offering different effects, depending on whether the player taps or hold-presses the Skill button.

Upon using the tap version of the Elemental Skill, the Pyro Traveler would enter the Nightsoul state and summon a Pyro ring called Blazing Threshold. It is expected to deal AoE Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG to enemies at certain intervals by consuming Nightsoul points.

As for the hold version of the Skill, the MC summons Scorching Threshold to the field. Unlike the previous summoning, this one is expected to consume Nightsoul points to deal coordinated attacks that inflict Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG.

Both of these abilities are speculated to work off-field and are likely to be the highlight of the Pyro Traveler's kit, as they would allow the character to function as a Pyro sub-DPS.

Elemental Burst

The Pyro MC's Elemental Burst in Genshin Impact is expected to be called Plains Scorcher and may deal AoE Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG to enemies. Additionally, it would restore a certain amount of Nightsoul points for the character for a certain interval after casting the Burst.

Constellations

All six Constellations of the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact have been leaked already. Let's take a look at what they may provide:

  • C1: When the Blazing or Scorching Threshold is present on the field, the active character would deal increased damage. If they are in the Nightsoul state, the damage increase would be further amplified.
  • C2: Within a certain duration of using the Elemental Skill, triggering Pyro-related elemental reactions would restore Nightsoul points.
  • C3: Increases the level of Elemental Skill by three.
  • C4: After using the Elemental Burst, the MC's Pyro DMG Bonus is increased for a particular period.
  • C5: Increases the level of Elemental Burst by three.
  • C6: When the Traveler is in the Nightsoul Blessings state, their Normal, Charged, and Plunge Attacks will deal Nightsoul-aligned Pyro DMG. Moreover, the Crit DMG of these attacks will also be increased.

While most of the Constellations focus on buffing the sub-DPS capabilities of the Traveler, the C6 is likely to make it so that it can be used as a main DPS.

Playstyle

Based on the leaked information, it is likely players will want to use the Pyro Traveler as an off-field sub-DPS, useful to trigger elemental reactions. Additionally, he would likely be able to pair up with a lot of characters, especially the ones from Natlan.

Players would benefit by upgrading the talent levels of the MC's Elemental Skill first as it would be central to the gameplay. Most of the time, they will begin by using the Skill to bring out either Raging or Scorching Threshold and then following it up with an Elemental Burst, which would be helpful to deal damage and extend the duration of the Skill.

However, if gamers want, they could also use the Pyro Traveler as a main DPS after unlocking C6. This would allow the character to remain on-field and deal consistent Pyro DMG.
