Genshin Impact shares six new features and changes coming to upcoming versions

Genshin Impact recently published the Developer's Discussion for November on its official social media platforms. This gives a glimpse into some of the new features and quality-of-life (QoL) changes introduced in the upcoming version 5.2. A chunk of these new features seem to focus on inventory optimization, exploration, and the Imaginarium Theater.

Some of these QoL changes will also be covered in the Special Program for version 5.2, which is scheduled to premiere on November 8, 2024. This article will go over all the upcoming new features and changes in Genshin Impact 5.2, according to the latest Developer's Discussion.

Treasure Compass and exploration upgrades

The Treasure Compass system has received two major upgrades to simplify exploration:

• More variety of Chests can be located.
• Automatic region-specific Compass and Oculus Resonance Stone switching.

Starting from version 5.2, the Treasure Compass will be able to detect more chest locations, meaning it will now be able to locate Time-Trial Challenges and Seelies that have not been found yet.

Furthermore, a new "Enable Quick Swap" option will be made available, which will allow the Treasure Compass and Oculus Resonance Stones to automatically switch between their respective region's versions based on the player's current region.

The following artifact optimizations have been made in 5.2 to make artifact management and organization easier:

• Artifact Auto-Lock feature upgraded: A new "Lock Plan" will be introduced, which will allow the game's system to automatically lock new artifacts that meet the set requirements. Players can set their Personalized Lock Plans, or use the system's preset plans to sort a large number of artifacts and auto-lock them with ease.
• New Artifact Astral Mark: Players will be able to mark their favorite artifacts with a star (Astral Mark) along with the auto lock option. The marked artifacts will prioritized and be displayed first on the Artifacts screen.
• Artifact order sorting: A new option will be added that will allow players to further sort their artifacts in the order in which they were first obtained.

When obtaining weapons from the Forging Shop and the Battle Pass pages, players will now be able to view the current inventory quantities of that weapon, its levels, and refinement ranks directly from the Forging Shop and Battle Pass pages by simply clicking on the desired weapon's icon.

Players will now be able to purchase the wood that they have already obtained from the Realm Depot in the Serenitea Pot. Furthermore, the cooldown for using the Boon of the Elder Tree will also be reduced from 15 to 5 seconds.

Increased base damage for certain elemental reactions

To balance elemental reactions and provide more combat variety, Genshin Impact will increase the base damage for certain elemental reactions, including Overloaded, Superconduct, Electro-Charged, and Shatter. These changes will ensure that these reactions remain viable and competitive with other elemental interactions, encouraging players to explore a wider variety of combat strategies.

The Performance Prep page in the Imaginarium Theater has undergone a significant redesign to allow easier team management and planning, which includes:

• Character Sorting Options: Players can now sort characters based on their elemental types, roles (DPS, support, or survival-type), and whether they’re on-field or off-field characters.
• Character Category Display: The number of characters in each category will be shown in the selected character area, providing a clear view of your team lineup.
• Boss Information Display: Clicking on a boss's avatar will display details about their attributes and weaknesses, allowing players to identify which characters will have a better advantage.
