Genshin Impact: The Tale of Kuntur hidden book location, puzzles guide, and secret achievement

A new area of Natlan has been introduced with the release of the Genshin Impact 5.2 update. In addition to obtaining Primogems, players can unlock a lot of secret achievements by exploring this location. One such secret achievement is titled Every Picture Tells a Story, which can be obtained by completing a series of puzzles located in an underground location in the Tezcatepetonco Range.

This article provides the location of The Tale of Kuntur book in Genshin Impact. It also explains how to complete the puzzles to obtain it and the Every Picture Tells a Story hidden achievement.

Genshin Impact The Tale of Kuntur book + Every Picture Tells a Story secret achievement guide

To obtain The Tale of Kuntur book in Genshin Impact, you must solve a series of puzzles. Once this is done, you will be rewarded with a Luxurious Chest that will contain the book. You will also unlock the Every Picture Tells a Story achievement.

Follow these steps to complete the series of puzzles:

Step 1: Teleport to the Quahuacan Cliff underground Teleport Waypoint

Teleport to the underground waypoint northeast of the Tezcatepetonco Range Statue of the Seven. This is the waypoint at the entrance of the cave that leads to the Genshin Impact Tenebrous Papilla Boss.

Step 2: Transform into the Iktomisaurus and follow the path

From the Teleport Waypoint, turn southeast and enter the cave. Your path will be blocked by two spider webs in quick succession. Destroy them and transform into an Iktomisaurus using the Spiritsconce in front of the second spiderweb. You will also find a Common Chest here.

Continue following the path until you reach a wall with a symbol on it (use Elemental Sight if you don't see the symbol). Hold and use the Iktomisaur's Skill to reveal the passage behind the wall. Once the wall disappears, walk through the entrance to reach the next area.

Step 3: Solve the Hued Monetoo puzzle

As you enter the next area, you will find three Hued Monetoo and a mural on the wall. Fill in the shapes on the mural with the same colors that the plants hanging nearby have. From left to right, the colors are yellow, blue, and red. Once you match the colors and solve the puzzle, the passage in front will open and lead you to the next area.

Step 4: Transform into an Iktomisaurus and follow the arrows

When you reach the next area, use the Spiritsconce to transform into an Iktomisaurus, and keep following the arrows leading you in the right direction.

Use the Iktomisaur's jump/fly skill to climb the walls. After following three arrows that will guide you, you will reach your destination.

Step 5: Use Iktomisaur's skill to replicate the enemies

As you reach the next area, you will notice a mural in front. A short cutscene will play out where you will see two Hued Monetoo and some enemies appear on the mural. Once the cutscene is over, you will be given instructions to defeat the enemies and help Kuntur (the orange Monetoo).

Aim the Iktomisaur's skill at the enemies in the mural and then replicate them on the ground in front of you. After you do this, the enemies will appear in front of you in Nightspirit form. Defeat them to complete the first part of the mural puzzle.

Step 6: Solve another Hued Monetoo puzzle

After the enemies have been defeated, another cutscene will play out where you will see Kuntur applying four different colors to the rocks on the mural. Use the mural as a guide and apply the same colors to the rocks nearby using the Hued Monetoo. To get the green color, extract hues from the Blue and Yellow Monetoo consecutively to change the color into green before applying it to the rock.

After you have applied the red, green, and yellow colors, you will notice that one rock is missing. You will have to create this rock using the Iktomisaur's skill on the ground in front of you (in the same position that it is placed inside the mural). After the rock has been created, apply the blue color to it.

Once all the colors have been correctly applied, the puzzle will be solved. Additionally, a path will open downward, leading you to the next area.

Step 7: Go down the path and interact with the tombstone

Jump down through the path to reach the next area, where you will find another mural. Walk up to the wall and read the tombstone placed in front of it. Click on the "Enter the story within the painting" option to start the next part of the gameplay.

Step 8: Solve the puzzle to keep Kuntur afloat

Read the instructions that tell you to keep Kuntur afloat using the wind currents. Use the normal attack button (or tap, for mobile players) to keep generating wind currents and help Kuntur get to the end.

Once Kuntur reaches the end, the Genshin Impact puzzle will be complete, and you will get a Luxurious Chest along with the Every Picture Tells a Story hidden achievement. Open the Luxurious Chest to obtain the book The Tale of Kuntur.
