Genshin Impact Twisted Extension quest guide

Twisted Extension in Genshin Impact is one of the hidden quests in Ochkanatlan. During the quest, you will meet a Saurian warrior named Quenin and visit five locations where you will defeat the Abyssal monsters and grab some chests, each worth five Primogems. Completing this quest will unlock a hidden achievement and reward you with Primogems and a Remarkable Chest for a new Serenitea Pot furniture.

To start the Twisted Extension quest, you must first complete the Palace of the Vision Serpent quest to unlock the Canyon of Dark Currents. Once that is done, teleport to this underground location, go straight to find Quenin standing alone in his camp, and talk to him. You must now visit five locations and defeat the Abyssal monsters with the NPC.

Location #1

Defeat the Ruin Machines (Image via HoYoverse)

Teleport to the eastern waypoint in Ochkanatlan and go northwest to find two Ruin Machines starting at each other. One of them is affected by the Abyssal contamination. Quickly defeat them with Quenin's help. Do note that defeating the Abyssal monster can take some time because of its Void Ward defensive barrier.

Defeating the mobs will trigger a cutscene. Wait for it to end and collect the Exquisite Chest before heading to the next location.

Location #2

Secret Source Automaton location (Image via HoYoverse)

Teleport to the eastern waypoint in the Cradle of Fleeting Dreams and go straight to find a corrupted Secret Source Automaton resting on a Phlogiston Wind Tunnel. Defeating it will trigger another cutscene. Once that ends, collect the Exquisite Chest for five Primogems.

Location #3

Return to the eastern teleport waypoint in the Cradle of Fleeting Dreams and turn around before jumping from the cliff to find two unconscious hilichurls and an Exquisite Chest with an ominous aura. Touching the chest will spawn a Tenebrous Mimiflora. Defeat it to get an Exquisite Chest reward worth five Primogems in Genshin Impact.

Location #4

From the location of the third chest, go southeast to find a man buried upside down in the ground. Get close to him and touch him before engaging in a fight. Swiftly defeat him and get your Exquisite Chest reward.

Location #5

Open the door and defeat the Tenebrous Mimiflora (Image via HoYoverse)

For the last location, go to the locked room in south Ochkanatlan. Interacting with the mechanism to open the door will spawn a Tenebrous Mimiflora. Defeat it to open the gate and collect the chest. However, this will spawn another Tenebrous Mimiflora that you must defeat. Once that is done, wait for the cutscene and open the Exquisite Chest for five Primogems.

Return to Quenin's camp

After opening the fifth chest, return to Quenin's camp in the Canyon Dark Currents and read the NPC's diary on the box. This will trigger the Twisted Extension quest in Genshin Impact.

After checking out Quenin's diary, go to the bottom of the waterfall and break the rock to find Quenin lying on the ground, before investigating his cold body.

Find the source of the voice and defeat the entity that looks like Quenin

Finally, follow the quest navigation and defeat the Abyssal mimic monster that looks like Quenin. This will conclude the Twisted Extension quest.

You will get 20 Primogems and a Remarble Chest for completing the Twisted Extension quest in Genshin Impact. Furthermore, it will unlock a hidden achievement called Who Am I?, worth five Primogems.
