Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist in Genshin Impact is a new quest in the Lost Traveler in the Ashen Realm series. While undertaking it, you will encounter a rogue dragon and uncover the secrets in Ochkanatlan with the help of an NPC and a new companion called Cocouik. The mission features a few new puzzle mechanics and can be slightly tricky to solve.

How to start Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist quest

Transform into Qucusaur and enter the building (Image via HoYoverse)

To start Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist in Genshin Impact, head to the Statue of The Seven in Ochkanatlan. You will find it locked inside a building.

Next, go to the cliff on the right side of the building and transform into a Qucusaur before using the Phlogiston Wind Current to rise higher. Finally, enter the building and follow your Saurian companion to activate a mechanism.

Doing so will trigger a cutscene and start the Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist quest in Genshin Impact.

Go to Ochkanatlan and keep exploring

After you've started the Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist quest, follow the quest navigation and go to Ochkanatlan. Once there, defeat all the enemies that come your way and head to the nearby teleport waypoint to find a ruin with a hilichurl staring at the entrance. Defeat the mob and open the gate.

Try to get into the tower up ahead

From the entrance, go west and climb the stairs to find a tower. Approaching it will automatically open the gate. Head in and collect the Pyroculus before transforming into an Iktomisaur.

Use the Iktomisaur's ability (hold RegularAttack) and focus on the symbol on the wall. This will make the large boulder disappear and you can use the mechanism to open a path to the underground room. This will also unlock a teleport waypoint in the ruin.

Explore the tower

After you jump into the room, use the path on the left side of the altar to find an elevator. Use it to get down to the lower floor.

Use the nearby mechanism to open the door that is stuck. Then, use the Iktomisaur's ability to focus on the symbol on the wall.

Next, head towards the other door. Hold your Elemental Skill while aiming at the spot under the door. Release the skill to summon a boulder and open the door.

Enter the room to find a Common Chest. Do note that the floor of this room is fragile, so be quick to open the chest before heading down.

When you get down, you will notice a lever that you can ignore for now. Head deeper into the cavern to find two doors with a single operating mechanism. Go between the doors in Iktomisaur form and use its skill on the wall before placing the boulder at the door on your right.

Return to the aforementioned lever to activate it and pass through the doors. This will trigger another cutscene and introduce a new NPC.

Leave the tower

Stand close to the Abyssal Blight. Suppress it using Cocouik's Halo before opening the door to leave the tower.

Explore the Ashflow Street and collect the Secret Source Scrap(s)

Follow the quest navigation for the locations of all the Secret Source Scraps. To collect these Scraps, stand near the two Abyssal Blights to suppress them at the same time. This will remove the seal around the Scraps allowing you to pick them up.

Defeat the Dragon of the City of Flowing Ash

Defeat the Dragon of the City of Flowing Ash with Cocouik's help. Keep the aim on the dragon and use the special ability when it is fully charged. You can also defend Cocouik from any incoming attacks by hitting Space.

This will be a normal battle. Defeat the dragon using your characters. Once that is done, a cutscene will begin and conclude the Genshin Impact Vaulting the Wall of Morning Mist quest.
