Genshin Impact: Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes guide

Envisaged Echoes is a gameplay mode in Genshin Impact's Imaginarium Theater that lets you challenge character-specific domains. Clearing these challenges will reward you with cosmetic items called Echoes that can be equipped on the aforementioned characters. The Echoes function as a trail when the character is walking or running.

During the launch of Envisaged Echoes, only five character challenges were available, namely Qiqi, Diluc, Ningguang, Jean, and Kirara. Over time, challenges were added for two more characters: Zhongli and Keqing. This article provides a guide on how to clear Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes challenge stage.

Genshin Impact Envisaged Echoes: Zhongli

As with all other Envisaged Echoes challenges, you need to have Zhongli at Level 90 and Friendship Level 8 to unlock his Envisaged Echoes stage.

Envisaged Echoes challenges are designed keeping the particular character's strengths, weaknesses, and overall gameplay in mind. Hence, clearing a character's Envisaged Echoes stage is not just about leveling up the character. You will also need to know the best strategies and techniques to play them.

Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes stage can be played in a couple of different ways. You can either build him with a full 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith set (focusing on HP and shielding), or a hybrid 2-piece Tenacity of the Millelith and 2-piece Archaic Petra set.

Do keep in mind that this challenge requires you to utilize stage mechanics to the fullest while focusing mainly on Zhongli's shields. Banking on a full shielder build would be the best option. You should equip the Favonius Lance as his weapon so he can use his Elemental Burst more often.

Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes: How to clear the stage

Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes challenge is divided into two phases: Vago Mundo Phase I and Vago Mundo Phase II. You need to clear the first phase to advance to the second one. In case you aren't able to clear the second phase, you don't need to repeat phase I all over again; you can restart from phase II.

1) First phase: Vago Mundo Phase I

For the first phase, you will need to place Zhongli's Stone Steles in strategic locations to clear the challenge and open the door. For those who have Zhongli at Constellation 1 (or above), you can simultaneously place two Stone Steles to help resonate with the Resonant Stone Pillars.

For those who have Zhongli at Constellation 1, start by placing a Stone Stele right between pillars two and three. Hit the main Unique Rock Pillar with a Plunge Attack in order to start the resonance. Once the resonance starts, keep moving. As you reach the final rock pillar, quickly place another Stone Stele in front of it to clear the challenge and open the door.

2) Second phase: Vago Mundo Phase II

While the second phase of this challenge is combat-oriented, it doesn't require Zhongli himself to directly deal much damage. For this challenge, 5 Assisting Crystals will appear at intervals, which you will have to destroy using Zhongli's Hold Skill. Destroying all 5 Assisting Crystals will give you a buff that will deal the main damage for you in this stage.

This buff is activated by dealing Normal Attack damage. When Zhongli uses Normal Attacks against the enemies, a shockwave will be unleashed every 4.5 seconds, dealing massive Physical DMG to the enemies. It is this damage that you will have to focus on, as Zhongli's personal damage (via his Normal Attacks) will be negligible against enemies.

Follow these tips to quickly clear the second phase of Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes challenge stage:

• Make sure you always have Zhongli's shield up. Enemies will deal increased damage to Zhongli if he is not protected by a shield. This damage can kill him with just one hit.
• Try not to get hit as much as possible. Since Zhongli himself will not be doing much damage, use his Normal Attack once to unleash the shockwave from the buff, and keep dodging for the next 4.5 seconds. Then go back and use another Normal Attack to activate the buff. Keep repeating this rotation.
• Use Zhongli's Elemental Burst as much as you can. Not only will this petrify enemies for a few seconds, but it will also give you time to break the Assisting Crystals without getting hit.
• Don't forget to break the Assisting Shields whenever they appear. Keep an eye on the 'Time Until Buff Expires' timer on the left so you know when to get ready for the next set of crystals.

Zhongli's Envisaged Echoes: Claiming and equipping his Echo

Once you clear Zhongli's challenge stage, you will automatically get his Echo as a reward. To equip it, head over to Zhongli's character page and enter his Dressing Room. Select the Echo from the Echo tab and equip it.
