Ghost of Tsushima PC's latest update is now live on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and comes packed with a host of fixes and improvements across the board. Much like the previous title update, the biggest change update 4 introduces to the game is improvements made to PlayStation PC SDK, which now supports CPUs that lack AVX2 instructions.
Apart from the PlayStation PC SDK update, the new patch also brings a host of fixes for bugs and minor visual issues that cropped up with the previous title update. Additionally, the game's Steam version now has complete support for the gyro functionality on controllers.

Ghost of Tsushima PC update 4 official patch notes
The new update for Ghost of Tsushima comes with a download size of 6.5 gigabytes, which is quite sizable compared to previous patches for the game, which were no more than 100 megabytes, at best. The update's large file size is possibly due to the improvements made to texture streaming and the PlayStation PC SDK.
The PC version of Ghost of Tsushima, despite being a fantastic port from Nixxes Software, had some VRAM-related issues, which resulted in the game stuttering after prolonged gameplay sessions. The new update seems to have finally addressed that.
Here's the official patch notes for Ghost of Tsushima PC update 4 (June 13, 2024):
- Updated PlayStation PC SDK to version 2.5 with support for processors that lack AVX2 instructions.
- Fixed an issue that could cause facial textures to be displayed incorrectly when running out of video memory.
- Fixed an issue that could cause shadows to appear smeared for a few frames.
- The gyro functionality of controllers can now also be used when Steam Input is enabled.
- Stability improvements to AMD FSR Frame Generation.
- Various stability improvements.
- Various user interface bug fixes.
After installing the update, you will have to accept the end-user license agreement (EULA) before you continue playing the game. The EULA is primarily for the background use of PlayStation Overlay, which seems to now be a common thing in PlayStation PC titles. Additionally, after installing the update, you will have to wait a few minutes to pre-compile shaders.
Following the update, performance seems to have improved marginally, especially if you're using DLSS or DLAA. On an RTX 4070, we saw an uptick of up to 6 fps on average, in the Iki Island expansion, which is one of the most taxing regions of the game.
